Ablation feels like indigestion in throat
Yes quite normal and should fade in a few days, see fact sheet.
Just becuase you don't have a giant zip up your chest does not negate the fact that you have had some serious work done insde and it WILL take time to recover.
I had this feeling, too, but it did soon go away. Did you have an echocardiogram performed during the procedure? If so, this might well have been inserted into your throat and caused irritation. Sometimes, also, the heat from the catheter can cause the oesophagus to react a little as, in some people, this presses up against the atrium. You might feel like you have something stuck in your throat, for example. Some doctors seem to be giving a short course of a PPI drug like omeprazole to help patients through this period. If it doesn't clear up of its own accord, be sure to ask the doctor who performed the ablation procedure.

Hi SteveDidn’t have TOE. It was Cryo not heat
I think the same applies - but not sure. I read that it’s when the food pipe presses against the heart, which is natural in some people. Also, the heart wall at that point in the atrium is naturally wafer thin in some people.
Thanks for reply . It’s awful pain at times
You could phone your GP or the arrhythmia clinic at the hospital? Also, does an antacid help at all - a spoon of bicarb for instance? You could also experiment with a packet of Nexium from the chemist to see if that helps. Both will stop acid (the Nexium after a day or so - take it before breakfast) and show if that’s the cause.
Pains from under or below left of the ribs through to the back are very common with digestive issues. You maybe have a slight hiatus hernia or a bit of diaphragm irritation.

I had it for a while afterwards too.😊.
Give it time. There will be lots of strange sensations and symptoms so soon after the procedure. It gets better day by day.
