Ablation - throat / gullet pain?

Hi all, I’m around 8 weeks post ablation now and getting mild / moderate pain in my throat / gullet and sometimes referred pain in my right shoulder joint.

It feels it bit like heartburn but not sure. I went on short jog yesterday and the bouncing movement when striding made it much worse.

Could it still be healing process of ablation or phrenic nerve issue (they did lose pacing from my phrenic nerve briefly during the op but it did recover).

Just want to know if this pain is to be expected and if other people have experienced it? Thanks.

Yes, mine took months to clear completely. Be careful about doing too much, too soon. Best wishes CD

Much the same here. If you’re like me, a good deal of what you’re feeling will be greatly magnified by anxiety. Old Father Time - with help from your GP - will soon bring you back to good health.

Thank you, yes I’m sure anxiety plays a big part in making matters worst.

It did (and still does...) for me, and not helped by the current crisis. Keep safe!

I’ve suffered a life long (albeit mild) battle with anxiety so know what you mean. Stay safe yourself.

Mild is often the right word for mine too, but I've had many days where I would choose a stronger word, even if a brave face is what the world sees!

The time to worry is if you develop a high temperature (not from a virus!) but I think it is too late for a serious oesophagus problem to develop.

Temperature is all good! Yes hopefully I’m outside the danger zone for serious complications!

I'am about 4 months post ablation and feeling the same throat sensitivity. Feels a little raw and every once in a while (mostly after physical exertion) feel a few seconds of heart pounding in that area. Glad to read it does seem to be a post-ablation side effect that gets better as time goes on.
