Quarantine for ablation?

My OH is due to have his 2nd ablation in a few weeks - those that have had one recently, or have just been given a date; have those you live with needed to isolate with you prior to admission? Just wondering, so I can let my boss know what to expect! Thanks

My brother in law had one a few weeks and back and yes the whole household had to isolate but different hospitals will have their own guidelines.

Thankyou - I realise different hospitals will have different protocols, just wanted to hear what various people have been asked to do. 🙂🙂

Thankyou - my thoughts were/are that I will need to isolate with him - just want to let my boss know to expect it lol! He’s brilliant, so there won’t be any issues 🙂🙂

I had to submit a test, which was couriered to me. I think we had to isolate following the test until the day of the procedure. For us this was only 4 days as the whole thing was a fast turn around.

I think it's the whole household. I didn't have to isolate just hav a Covid test beforehand though.

Had one in September and I’ve just had a Pacemaker. Each time they said two weeks of being very careful and after my pre op Covid test two days before everyone in the household to totally isolate. Hope things went well.

I'm having my ablation tomorrow morning and have been in isolation for 3 days.No one else in our home has needed to isolate even though they go to work daily.

I keep myself alone in my bedroom.

I had mine done in April at BMI Coventry and their protocol was, I had to have a Covid test 72 hours prior and then isolate. My husband also had to isolate but it baffled me as to why he wasn't tested as well.

Thankyou - he’ll be having it done at Glenfield; some of the protocols (for lots of things) are strange aren’t they! At his pre assessment, they said he’ll need to have a test 72 hours before, but didn’t mention isolating. We’re assuming that isolation will be required, and information about that will come through with the letter giving him a date 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I would definitely count on isolation. Hope all goes well. Glenfield is not a million miles from me and has a very good reputation. My EP was there for a while.😊.

Yes, he’s been with Glenfield for a number of years and had his 1st ablation there - we’re about 3/4 hour away

Yes, I had my ablation just over a week ago and between the covid test (Tuesday) and the ablation (Friday) my household had to isolate for 3 days.

I had an ablation in June at Glenfield. I had a pre operation which included a PCR test on the Friday and the procedure on the Monday and everyone in my household had to isolate from that point until the Monday.
