It is always best to discuss any medication changes with your doctor, you may wish to visit the AF Association website to view our online patient resources for further information about medications, or contact the Patient Services team for advice heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
Amiodarone is mainly a rhythm control drug so I would advise that you contact your medical team asap amd explain how low your heart rate it going as there may be othe reasons which need investigating
If you are taking a beta or calcium channel blocker then they are more like to affect your heart rate but I am not medically trained. As has been said, you should not alter medication without consulting your medics….
Not without speaking to a medic! I was on half dose and it worked brilliantly, but suggest it to the arrythmia nurses or your EP.
Hi ,
I am taking Multaq 400mg ( Dronedarone) , My heart rate was between around 49 . I started taking half 3 week ago . Now , my heat rate is about 50-60 . I am stilling testing it . Hope , it gives you a reference. Talk to your doctor first .
Definitely talk to your EP about it. But I am on amiodarone with RHR also in mid 40s and it doesn’t worry me particularly. The only thing I don’t like is that if I get up after sitting for a while and start moving about or going upstairs, I have palpitations, presumably because my heart feels it needs to crank up a gear quite quickly!
Be Best to speak with your GP/ or cardiologist before altering any medication Rambler. 👍
