I took a tumble today and boy did I sprain and strain some back muscles. I know I cannot take Ibuprofen/Motrin/muscle relaxant with the meds I'm taking for a-fib.
What are some of my options for over the counter pain relief? Everybody's medical offices are closed now because it's a Saturday evening here in the US.
I take a blood thinner, a beta blocker, and flecainide.
I have some acetaminophen in my medicine cabinet. I've been rotating between icing my back muscles and using a heat pad on on the area.
I'm not asking for medical advice or for drug advice, I'm only asking for info about what might have worked for you as far as over the counter pain relief, that was not contraindicated with your diagnosis or current meds.
Thanks!!!

It appears to work. I am on the same as you ( but not Flec), my a/c is Warfarin. My problem is osteoarthritis in left shoulder AC Joint but at the moment the jury is still out. You could research it - known as "DMSO cream(50%)for ComplexRegional Pain Syndrome" The leaflet is a NHS Isle of wight publication. I also take CoCodomol 30/500. I have a sample and it is like a clear gel rather than a cream.
Hope this helps, research won't do any harm anyway.
One of the few medications we AF people in the UK can take is paracetamol. I believe it's called tylenol in the US. I am on the same medication as you.
I have had lower back pain for 4 weeks and GP (uk)prescribed Econac suppositories ( Diclonic Sodium ) that you push up your bum once a day. They are Ibuprofen and inflammitores and don't harm the stomach. My regular meds include Flecainide. Adizem 180, Apixaban, omprezole, Losarton.
