Kardia Mobile cleared for AI improvements to Mobile and 6L ECG

Have you guys seen this?...didn't see it posted yet:

prnewswire.com/news-release...

I just purchased an iWatch6 for it's smoother and (arguably) more accessible ECG. My electrophysiologist, who reads my tapes said he preferred it to Kardia for the relatively artifact free readings of the watch and even demo'd his own ECG during our last visit. So, I bought one.

But now, if Kardia is going to discern PVC's, Supraventricular Ectopy and A-fib, I'm going to have to carry around both as I have all three rhythms and can't always tell the difference based on feel alone. Even better if it were a wearable, but alas, I suppose we can't have it all just yet.

Interesting - Another few years and we will all be continuously monitored with chips in our guts, hearts and who knows where?

I have both 6L Kardia and iWatch, which I agree is much more accessible. Because I have a pacemaker I hardly ever use the Kardia these days but the 6L is a LOT more sensitive and taking the 6L is quite a performance as you need access to bare skin on either a knee or ankle and need to keep incredibly still. Great news though - any idea when it will be going live?

Well done Dr Dave!

I only saw 2021. No mention of exact date, but it would seem the biggest hurdle would have been FDA approval and they've got that...But, yea it is a performance sometimes. Shaking and anxious with no stable countertop is not a good way to approach a recording session on Kardia....I find my battery and or bluetooth connection usually wants to flounder on those occasions when I'm fumbling for a quick read.

If you download a basic learning programme on reading ECGs you will be able to recognise PACs and PVCs yourself on the recording. It isn’t difficult.

Indeed. I do need a refresher...:)

I’ve just read the article and the improvements I think are really valuable are ‘less unclassified readings’ which is good as ‘unclassified’ seems to alarm people, and ‘long QRS’ diagnosis which is important as ‘long QRS’ is, I think (please correct me if I’m wrong as using aged memory) one of the criteria for stopping use of Flecainide and Propafenone.

Thanks Bennera513 . I once loved my Withings MoveECG for similar reasons you like your Apple device. Wearable and useful and smart. Unfortunately, the build quality was poor and the support almost non existent, and then I broke it trying to change the battery (yet again!). Now I'm back to using my old Kardia, and glad that this device is both good quality and has continuing support. For me, this is great news.
