Unable to print Kardia ECG from ancient iPad

I've just spent a totally frustrating time trying to get around my 10 year old iPad, running IOS 12.5.5 (cannot be updated apparently) to print an analysis report from my Kardia for my husband. I have tried the following without success -

1 Sending to AirPrint printer - Canon ip7200 - iPad can no longer recognise printer

2 Trying to install email client - all I tried need higher version of IOS to install

3 Using iTunes to connect to my PC - success but neither the Kardia app nor the file appear in the transfer window

4 Cussing under my breath

The analysis reports AF but, as it seems to be PAF, his GP is going to need convincing as it took me 6 years to get diagnosed. Therefore, I think a printout is the better option.

Has anyone found a solution or workaround to this? I would be so grateful for advice and it would save the household from me going to step 5 above.

Are you able to email the file to someone with a device that can print ? Or even email direct to GP surgery? I would test it with someone you know first.

I haven't got an email app installed on the iPad and each one I tried to install needed a higher version of IOS.

There is usually a pre installed email app as part of the Apple IOS, has that been removed ?

Failing that you could log on to your email on webmail via safari and attach the file that way ?

I had my favourite email app installed but a few years ago, the iPad crashed during an update and I had to recover what I could - which was very minimal - and the email account was wiped.

I'll try the Safari suggestion and see what I can achieve - thank you.

You may need to save the PDF first in Files or Books before you can attach it in webmail.

Good luck

Thank you Buzby - you pointed the way to the solution - I reinstalled Files and, apart from my BTinternet email complaining, I got it done.

As a last resort could you do screenshots of the ECG then bluetooth them across to a device from which you can print? This is, of course, a very clumsy way of doing things, but it should work.

We've just updated our son's iPad as it won't run the latest software. The new iPad Air is a wonderful device, in case you feel like treating yourself!

The ECG report could be sent as a PDF my email, I would guess, rather than printing it? Would that not do?

The best answer is a new iPad - mine is probably a model from 13 or 14 years ago. The problems were multiple - ancient ipad, s/w not running on it, corrupted Files folder, ancient Canon printer, BTinternet email not installing on ipad and on and on . . .

My son's was the same. It ran all the basic stuff they used it for, but slowly this or that needed an update that wasn't available.

We bought them the new Air and pencil for Christmas as our grandson enjoys painting, spelling and doing his sums on it. It's an expensive outlay but as with all things Apple, a rather wonderful device. If it lasts as long as yours has, well, that won;t be bad!

Can you print it as a pdf and email it? It should be one of the print options or try uninstalling and re installing the printer

If you can't email the ekg, how about just taking a picture of the screen showing the report your smart phone.

Also if you have. or want to subscribe to their paid monthly service, all EKGs and reports will be kept in the cloud, which then can be accessed by any computer.

What cellphone do you have? You should try connecting Kardia with that and then all you need to do is show the doc what's on your phone. I have an android phone and can easily see the readings on it and I also save the files to Google Drive without problems.

I have been considering changing over to my android phone, rather than the ancient iPad but I like the larger display available on the iPad. Got the iPad connected successfully to my PC and printer so we have paper reports for our GP.
