Positive Posting?

It's Thursday. It's sunny in the UK. It's an autumn day. We might be in lockdown 2.0, we might have AF and we might be distant from loved ones.

BUT - give us something positive to share! News, triumphs, achievements, goals.... !

Agree let's have some Spirit of the Blitz !

Our youngest son has found a lovely woman and they got engaged on Sunday!

This is the Wild Child Heavy Metal / drinker. He has met the equivalent of Sharon Osborne and over the past months has been happier than I've seen him since 2016 when his girlfriend died and he kicked back for a long time.

So happy for him!

Plus I have learned how to make soda bread😋

Thinking of you all in lockdown. Positive news from my end - I’m heading out on Saturday to check out a wedding venue at a yacht club by the river with my youngest daughter who recently got engaged. She tells me it’s wheelchair friendly. I’ll have about 12 months to get my ankle right and my dancing shoes on again 💃🏼🕺🏼

During lockdown 1 I learned how to recover my very weary dining room chairs and they now look spectacular! If I could, I’d post a photo as I am thrilled with them.

My brother also kicked the drink during Lockdown1, he had been very depressed and is now 4 months clean and speaking on local radio and talking and helping others.

I am helping a friend (81 years young) put together a Zoom presentation entitled Zoom into a Jewish Home for our U3A, who all meet on Zoom on Thursday mornings.

My social life has never been so good as I hear from old friends and family far more often!

Big well done too your brother. Has he sat in your new chairs yet :-)

No, he is in north I live in the south. We don’t see each other much but talk a lot, especially when he was at his worst. Actually no news is good news!

Whilst gardening a couple of days ago I suddenly realized my wedding ring had gone. (lost a lot of weight and it is quite loose.) I tipped out the huge dumpy bag of ivy, cottoneaster and berberis cuttings we had been collecting and saw it glint amidst the green. Result!

Still in business and just sold a couple of our houses - deposits paid and cleared AND it's not raining today.

How good is that !

I am still in NSR since my third cardioversion in February. Having a good laugh because we put washing out to dry earlier - all forecasts said clear then went straight out for our walk , fed the llamas in a field down the road and had two light showers and now have another. Don't know whether to leave them out because the forecasts say it is clear all afternoon now or not - would you believe them? Right going to go and do some cycling in the garage. Then have lunch. Good to be alive.

Nope - never believe the weather forecasts. If Michael Fish can get it wrong (1986?) they all can.

And

"I am still in NSR since my third cardioversion in February"

Spot on - great news.

And

"Good to be alive"

Yep +1.

I'd say leave the Llamas outside they're probably OK with it.

I am going to see the dentist today and it's NOT to have a crown done as that's all finished - just a check up, whoopee!

Hello all, I have been busy during lockdown 1 and decorated my kitchen. This involved using a wallpaper stripper for the first time then had to repair the walls before emulsion went on. I am very happy that at 77 I did a good job!

My son is working from home so company is great. I hadnt seen him since Jan as he lives in London but he was here for a family funeral when Lockdown 2 was announced so stayed on.

All is well in my world and its been good to keep in touch with friends even if we havent been able to meet face to face.

Take care xxxx

1. I’ve just managed to secure a Tesco Christmas delivery slot. They are like gold dust and I was ready and waiting when they went live at 7:00am this morning.

2. My bubble is coming to stay for Christmas, weather permitting as being in Yorkshire I could be knee deep in snow by then.

3. My second ablation of 2 weeks ago has been the biggest learning curve for me personally.

4. Neighbour has checked on me every day since ablation to see if I need anything as I live on my own.

5. Friends left a huge bunch of flowers on my doorstep.

6. Amazon delivery man is my new best friend.

7. Me and my running mate (google) have sorted a heating and plumbing issue.

8. I’ve met all you lovely people. Not the club any of us wanted to join but we are there for each other and that is priceless.

9. 💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎💜 The N.H.S and all frontline workers.

Hugs

Despite all that is going on with Covid, my brother has continued with his cancer treatment and is in remission. And, after my ablation in July, I have just got back to walking my usual distance. It takes me 15 minutes longer than it did as I have to take it easy, but hey I'm definitely getting there.

What a fabulous post. I try to write an appreciation diary each day, so love this and all the great little stories from everyone

28 days since my last AF episode

Sitting here listening to my own bands music that I play bass in and proud that it sounds so good

Getting my car serviced and surrounded by lovely people and great service

Lucky to have a partner that makes me laugh, giggle and be silly

An 84 year old mother that is crazy enough to go to music festivals

A father with failing health that remains a rock of sound advice

A son and daughter in good health and no impact on my loved ones of Covid

To be part of this group, that has taught me so much to ease my anxiety, normalise my questions and accept that this crappy condition is something that I just need to respect but can manage

What a great post. Thank you. After a trip to hospital Monday night I'm sorted out again thanks to the NHS and wonderful staff. I'm having a lazy start to the day, lying in bed with our amazing rescue cat who looks very chilled. Appreciating what a gift she was to our home. Eighteen month old Burmese with a huge talkative character, lots of love in her little heart, and so playful. She has brought such joy into our lives.🐈💖

My youngest son came home to live with me during covid and brought Arnie his little dog with him. I now have a reason and no excuses to get out in nature every day for walkies. I have also turned my spare bedroom into a storage space for all my crochet and knitting supplies and now have Xmas presents stacked up everywhere, hats, cushion covers, gloves, scarves, ponchos bags etc etc. Xmas will be homespun this year.

Some really amazing responses! Feeling good today!

Today is going to be a baking day for me. I use to love baking when I was a newly wed (50 years ago). Hubby was the lucky recipient of all my baking errors. I am making a banana loaf, a carrot cake, and 2 apple cakes. I have to get my 5 a day in somehow. My grandchildren will be the lucky recipients this time, although hubby may have a slice or two. Have a blessed day everyone. x

Managed to get out for a walk in the dying drops of one shower blasting through and back just in time as the next one came blasting along. Did not get wet but saw a few plump squirrels stuffing their faces with acorns.

This afternoon I am going dancing with a very small group of friends (4 couples) in the local hall (in Wales) for an hour and a half. Masks will be worn, disinfectant will be sprayed but it will be great to see how many routines we can remember.

Best news of all a vaccine looks like it will arrive reasonably soon. Cant wait.
