I feel much better already after three weeks but have noticed that I still get out of breath quickly. Better than it was before the ablation but still worrying me. Has anyone else had this experience. My heart rate seems fine 60-70 bpm and only one episode of palpitations. I was in AF all the time before the ablation due to Covid early in the year.

Yes i agree, it take at least a year to recover if not longer, if you feel great like they say in the booklet after 6 months then lucky you, and it never feels like it used to feel around the heart area, but ive been free of AF since 2016 and it decided to come back again yesterday when i woke up......grrrr, here we go again, more doc appointments
It takes upto 3months before you’ll know for sure if it’s successful. That is also around the time that you will start feeling more energy. I just got my third ablation two months ago and I still get exhausted and can barely lift anything heavy.
Awe such early day, it really is.....I remember sending a similar thing to forum after three months as I was fine then some days I had no gusto and breathless....it was like hitting the marathon wall without doing the marathon....it really is a funny recovery cos you haven’t a huge wound or scar to see but the poor heart is still healing.
Don’t despair though because we are all different and some recover sooner than others. You are heading in the right direction.
I am 3 1/2 months post ablation and still get breathless if I try to push myself - so I don't! I still walk everyday but keep myself at a pace which is comfortable.
Thank you all so much for your help. It seems that its pretty normal to feel breathless for a while anyway. I am sure I shall have some more questions soon !
Yes i have the breathlessness every since ihad my ablation in 2016 lol, it does get better but i think you have to try and relax when it happens, i asked the doc for a ventiln inhaler, he said it probably wont do much as its probably the heart but i think it does just knowing its there makes me feel better, ask the doc for one, im sure he wont mind either way
I am asthmatic so have had a Ventolin inhaler for ever. I do use it occasionally but as it stimulates the heart to beat faster I am a bit worried about using it now.
