Leg pain after Ablation

Guys, I hope I’m being over keen to feel better but thought I’d check anyway:

Ablation last Tuesday- 6 days

My groin area, wounds closed over, no obvious issues looking there. He went in both legs.

However my legs at the top near the wound sites are still really hurting. Getting out of bed/a chair really hurts and standing too long is ugh.

Is that normal? I’ve read the leaflets. They just mention the wound site but that looks fine.

I don’t feel feverish or anything. Should I check with the doctor?

I know you guys will have the answer!

I had an ablation for SVT 3 weeks ago and had catheters inserted both sides. one of the wounds has healed very well, no pain issues, no bruising. The other one has caused me a lot of pain.

immediately afer the ablation you lie still to help the puncture sites to heal. After a few hours I was encouraged to get up and walk about and while doing so I felt my leg getting wet, the wound had opened and blood everywhere. Quick nurse reaction stopped it but that side is very bruised, I ended up with a very painful lump near the site (haematoma). After 3 weeks lump greatly diminished, bruise going, still hurts a bit though. It took about 3 weeks for the puncture site for my AF ablation to heal as well so it has happened to me. Can't say if it is "normal" but that was my experience.

Yes I laid for 6 hours and that first get up was EVIL!

Sorry you had that bad experience.

I’m back from the doctors. Legs and pulses checked. Everything seems ok. Just painful!

Stronger painkillers given!

Yes, my thigh wounds were sore for several weeks and on one side I also had a tender lump but it turned out to be fine.
