Afib and hot flashes

Hi! I am new here and having some issues. I have had Afib and SVT for two years now. I am on Eliquis, Metoprolol and Flecainide. I recently started having hot flashes, mainly at night and anxiety. I am 64 female. Anyone else experience this?

I take both Flecainide 2 x 75mg daily and 2 x 12.5mg Metoprolol and am not experiencing what you are. Saying that, whenever I get hot I become really hot but that's usually after having exerted myself, but certainly not like that in bed.

I think you should have a word with your GP.

Hi, I've had exactly the same for the last 12yrs! Hot flushes every night accompanied with anxiety on some nights. Mainly when I first lie down or on waking during the night, they only last a few minutes and I try to control with a few deep breaths and lying still with the sheets off. Also on flecainide and 69yr female so not sure if the AF is the cause or the medication!

Yes, and I am 75. I have them randomly through the day usually. They were originally diagnosed as menopausal but I do think they are connected to the heart in some way.

I am 53 and menopausal and night sweats would bring on heart palpitations and ectopics and a general ill feeling.

I agree with Buffafly. I have had hot flushes for the past 15 years and believe they are in some way connected to my heart rather than menopausal. I am now 64. I have found that reflexology helps. The therapist works on the vagus nerve and this appears to aid both hot flushes and my digestion. I am not on the same medication as you are though.
