Well doesnt caffeine trigger Afib? I mean hot showers may or may not idk about that one
Before I started Flecainide, showering always triggered some form of arrhythmia - occasionally AF but more usually straightforward tachycardia. Even the coolest water did it - by then I was conditioned, perhaps.
We installed a shower seat and it was such a transformation!
It would not surprise me if hot tea triggered your AF - two unlikely triggers for me were white spirit (which I used to use in my painting) and going downhill in the car. Weird.
A really hot drink has been known to trigger.
If we all took evasive action because of each other's triggers life would be very constrained. I am fortunate that hot showers, hot tea, one glass of wine, beer or spirits, cold drinks, fizzy drinks, sleeping on my left side, bending over ( I could go on) do NOT act as triggers for me.
Triggers are many and various but very individual and there will always be some we have in common.
If I had to choose a few I would say dehydration, viral infections ( though this probably linked to dehydration, and large meals.
I never realised that cold drinks were a trigger for AF. In fact when mine started 20 years ago I was told that crunching ice cubes between my teeth might help stop them but it didn't. Like Finvola says conditioning probably plays a part. I find a cup of tea very comforting and good for me psychologically and makes me feel calmer.
