First post on here but would just like to hear any thoughts from fellow sufferers!
Have had 2 ablations for AF-first one lasted 4 years-second one lasted 2 1/2 years until June 2019. Then suddenly developed very fast pulse rate ending up in
A&E where they reduced it by administering 2.5 Bisoprolol. At the time I was taking 5 mg Bisoprolol and to be honest I think it would have reduced by itself given time. Previous to this episode my pulse rate was steady 60 bpm but since then it is about 78 bpm when in sync.
Was referred back to cardiologist as I had been signed off in February 2019. Had ECG and Echocardiogram and was booked in for cardioversion and put on waiting list for another ablation.(approx 14 months waiting list).
ECG showed back in AF but also atrial flutter. Had the cardioversion in November 2019 but this didn’t work and am on waiting list for another ablation as already mentioned but no doubt the Corona virus situation will unavoidably delay this further.
Can’t really feel the flutter but the AF comes and goes all the time.
Typically, any physical effort results in very slow pulse rate which then reverts to about 78 bpm when resting again but the fibrillation can kick in at any time and affects me much more than previously to the extent that I cannot be anything like as active as I would like to be.I do not get particularly breathless but just feel as though I am dragging myself around most people the time.
Would just like to know if this is typical of fellow sufferers and roll on ablation time.
Thank you.
