Six weeks since my paf was treated by cryoablation and I think all going well.i have read the fact sheet and I am getting some short lived palpitations and chest a little tight if I do too much. Anxious of course.
I am 61 years old and not too overweight and no other illnesses.
I would like to go back to work (podiatrist ) but know I not ready yet. I am interested in all of you that have walked this path. When did you feel safe to do some exercise and return to work?Fatigue still an issue.
I do walk and I know we are all different 😊
Any thoughts appreciated

Of course we are all different, but I would have thought that after 6 weeks, you should be OK to be back at work. I know podiatrists deal with feet, but speaking as a layman with no personal experience, if your groin wound has healed, strain on your heart should be minimal. Others here may have a different view but I think most Doctors will suggest returning to “light duties” after 2 weeks so 6 weeks should be fine......
I'm at two months and still kn*ckered if I do too much. Not going back for a few more weeks but then I'm a fitness instructor! A very unfit one at the mo!
I suggest starting with a very short day of, say, three hours, perhaps three days per week. That's what I did after 5 weeks hospital with Afib followed by cardioversion last year.
It was actually 2.5 weeks in hospital; 1.5 weeks at home in a virtual drugged up coma; given a different drug which caused me to be rushed to hospital in ambulance unconscious; 1.5 more weeks in hospital, then finally they decided to do a cardioversion (like I told them all along!).
Then they did the same in March! Refused to cardiovert again! but I was at least at home (still drugged up like a zombie) the whole 5.5 weeks this time - and I recovered so much quicker, back cycling after 4 weeks.
But thank you very much for your good wishes. means a lot
I've just posted about my two month recovery (you can search for it. Also I did one month and two weeks are there too) - you will see that I have been a bit impatient so I'm the worse person to ask!
I'd say if you take it easy - very low intensity - and very short and then see how you are the next day. Many on this website seem to suggest totally resting for months, but I don't agree, I think total inactivity is bad for you and hinders healing. It's a balance, isnt it?! Certainly I was told it was safe to run after 48 hours!!! Not that I could, or wanted to!
