I've been looking at the Kardia phone compatibility and unless I have an apple iphone, (the main ones) it seems I'm not going to be able to buy.

I have a Sony Xperia 10iv which isnt listed. Has anyone else tried using one with a Kardia

The list is only ones that have been tested by alivcor- they don’t test every phone. My 2lead Kardia worked with my Huawei tablet computer, not listed.

I hope someone with your make/ model phone replies.

Also search for previous posts on this, there have been several.

Don't you mean Kardia 1L(ead)? I haven't seen a 2 lead device from Kardia!

Every Kardia has at least two connections. The earlier one was known as the two lead until the 6L came out, and then it was described as one lead, meaning one channel across the heart.

Not many (if any) Forum members refer to it as a "2lead" device. Just trying to help those new to Kardia.

2 connections, but ONE lead.

As the 6L has 3 connections and SIX leads.

No.

This is from Kardia user manual:

" You may also choose from two other placements:  For a Lead II ECG, the left knee should contact the electrode closer to the top of the smartphone or tablet and the right hand should contact the electrode closer to the bottom of the smartphone or tablet.  For an Anterior Precordial Lead, the device can be placed on the lower left side of the chest, just below the pectoral muscle. The bottom of the smartphone or tablet should be pointing towards the center of the body."

You can read the manual if you google

“user manual for Kardia mobile”

Doh! I'm struggling to understand your Reply, and am keen to understand what you are saying "No" to.

I checked the 6L User Manual online but I can't find your quotes.

The following image shows the 6 leads of the Kardia 6L as I understand it, with the left ankle shown rather than the left knee which I use.

I was replying no to your comment:

"Don't you mean Kardia 1L(ead)? I haven't seen a 2 lead device from Kardia!"

Look up the manual for the original Kardia.

I'm not that old, I bought my Kardia 6L in May 2022. I do not have access to old user manuals. And my point is still valid, most Forum members new to Kardia know the earlier device as a 1 lead device to distinguish it from the 6 lead device (which helpfully uses Bluetooth to communicate with the App).

But please call it a 2 lead device if you prefer.

"I'm not that old,"

You are older than me according to you bio!

The original Kardia, (not that old), is a 2lead device.

The manual is available online if you wish to inform yourself.

Your bio makes you a mystery man, no age, no country of residence. Keep up the good work.

Will do!

Hi,

I have a Motorola Moto G100 ......... not on their approved list but works just fine. I use Kardia 6L. I've had the phone over a year now, absolutely no problems.

The Kardia 6L uses Bluetooth to connect so I believe should be universally compatible so long as their app will run on the phone. If you buy from Amazon, I suppose you could try it out and return it if for some odd reason it fails. A (second hand?) Apple Watch is the equal of Kardia in accuracy if detecting AF is what you need it for.

AliveCor (Kardia) have very poor customer relations. If your phone is not on their approved list it's their reason to refuse to give you any help, regardless of how insignificant your question, hardware or software related. But my phone is a Moto G6 Plus (an older phone now), not on the list, and it works OK with the Kardia 6L that uses Bluetooth for communication between the device and the App. No problems.

Anyway there's a returns policy if you find it won't work with your phone. But I think it unlikely you would need to use this.

I have just checked on Amazon, and the Sony Xperia 10iv runs Android 12. I think you can safely say that it probably WILL work with the Kardia 6L _I'd be very surprised indeed if it didn't. It likely would not work with the older two contact Kardia, which does not use Bluetooth to connect.

Thank you everyone for your replies.I went ahead and bought the £99 one hoping it would work ok and it does, so won't need to return.

Thank you
