Hi I have not posted for a while. On June 1st I eventually had the final part of the pace and ablate procedure at Papworth hospital. It all went well until last weekend when I started to experience a shortage of breath and palpitations in addition to feeling very tired. I can now not sleep on my back or left side as the breathlessness starts with a vengeance. Both ankles are swollen and I have been given water tablets to reduce the fluid. I thought that the recovery from pace and ablate took less time than an af ablation so if anyone has experience of this it would be very helpful. Thanks and best wishes. Richard

Hi I needed diuretics in the week prior to the ablation but stopped them thereafter. Gp sent me off for a Covid 19 so will await for 48hrs when the results are due. I will probably contact the arrhythmia nurses at Papworth on Monday as well. Thanks for your reply
I had a pace and ablate last year and the fact that the pacemaker is keeping your heart rate perfect it somehow alters the synchronisation of the ventricles and you develop fluid overload. I did and was not happy as I was not warned this could happen. I am now taking Co-Amilfruse.
