Hi all, it’s been a good few months since I’ve been on here because I’ve felt so well! I’ve been in a bubble of good health and gardening!
My AF has been under control and was advised to stop medication to see if it comes back.
Well it has! But only when I bend down?! It’s so odd, the minute I bend down to pick anything up it starts up again. It doesn’t last long too long but is very uncomfortable. I’ve got verapamil in my cupboard so I’m tempted to start tonight (I’ve got about three weeks worth) and try and touch base with my cardiologist ASAP.
Does this happen to anyone else with the bending down? I’m so upset, I’ve felt so well and feel like I’m back quite a few steps 😢 xxx

Ahh ok, thank you. I did think that. Although did think I was going mad at one point 🤦🏻♀️ Thanks so much for the reply, always makes me feel so much better xx
Your experience is quite common I understand. Personally, I don't get AF if I bend over like yourself but when doing that I do feel uncomfortable and bend my knees or go on my knees when gardening etc rather than keeping the legs straight.
Yes - before I started taking Flecainide six years ago, bending down triggered AF every time and stretching up with my right hand was nearly as bad.
Now, Flecainide controls the AF but bending is still a minor problem with ectopics. I find that breathing deeply in and bending on the out breath stops the ectopics. I assume it has to do with chest compression irritating the heart.
Hi Lahodges10 i was speaking about this topic the other day, have a look at my previous post's, i get a skipped/beats flutters not only when i bend forward but when i lean back on my chair also
Hello there! Are you sure it is AFIB that you experience while you're bending down? Personally I use to have a few ectopics when I bend down but no AFIB.
