BILL GATES VIEW on the CVirus . . . takes 5 mins to read but so worth your time as he totally nails it . . .

What is the Corona/ Covid-19 Virus Really Teaching us?

I’m a strong believer that there is a spiritual purpose behind everything that happens, whether that is what we perceive as being good or being bad.

As I meditate upon this, I want to share with you what I feel the Corona/ Covid-19 virus is really doing to us:

- It is reminding us that we are all equal, regardless of our culture, religion, occupation, financial situation or how famous we are. This disease treats us all equally, perhaps we should to. If you don’t believe me, just ask Tom Hanks.

- It is reminding us that we are all connected and something that affects one person has an effect on another. It is reminding us that the false borders that we have put up have little value as this virus does not need a passport. It is reminding us, by oppressing us for a short time, of those in this world whose whole life is spent in oppression.

- It is reminding us of how precious our health is and how we have moved to neglect it through eating nutrient poor manufactured food and drinking water that is contaminated with chemicals upon chemicals. If we don’t look after our health, we will, of course, get sick.

- It is reminding us of the shortness of life and of what is most important for us to do, which is to help each other, especially those who are old or sick. Our purpose is not to buy toilet roll.

- It is reminding us of how materialistic our society has become and how, when in times of difficulty, we remember that it’s the essentials that we need (food, water, medicine) as opposed to the luxuries that we sometimes unnecessarily give value to.

- It is reminding us of how important our family and home life is and how much we have neglected this. It is forcing us back into our houses so we can rebuild them into our home and to strengthen our family unit.

- It is reminding us that our true work is not our job, that is what we do, not what we were created to do.

Our true work is to look after each other, to protect each other and to be of benefit to one another.

- It is reminding us to keep our egos in check. It is reminding us that no matter how great we think we are or how great others think we are,

a virus can bring our world to a standstill.

- It is reminding us that the power of freewill is in our hands. We can choose to cooperate and help each other, to share, to give, to help and to support each other or we can choose to be selfish, to hoard, to look after

only our self. Indeed, it is difficulties that bring out our true colors.

- It is reminding us that we can be patient, or we can panic. We can either understand that this type of situation has happened many times before in history and will pass, or we can panic and see it as the end of the world and, consequently, cause ourselves more harm than good.

- It is reminding us that this can either be an end or a new beginning. This can be a time of reflection and understanding, where we learn from our mistakes, or it can be the start of a cycle which will continue until we finally learn the lesson we are meant to.

- It is reminding us that this Earth is sick. It is reminding us that we need to look at the rate of deforestation just as urgently as we look at the speed at which toilet rolls are disappearing off of shelves. We are sick because our home is sick.

- It is reminding us that after every difficulty, there is always ease. Life is cyclical, and this is just a phase in this great cycle. We do not need to panic; this too shall pass.

Whereas many see the Corona/ Covid-19 virus as a great disaster, I prefer to see it as a great corrector. It is sent to remind us of the important lessons that we seem to have forgotten and it is up to us if we will learn them ........,

OR not!

I know it’s off topic but maybe it may help us to see that this group is to help us all. Our opinions are just that. We all are allowed an opinion. So let’s all keep our comments about AF to support one another. And to tell us facts and info we never knew about as they have experienced them. I have found this forum so helpful. So wishing you all to be kind and supportive of one another. Bless you all.

in reply to sotolol

Thankyou for sharing that and for your great attitude, that is contagious💜

That is very profound in the real sense and we can all learn from it.

Thank you for sharing this.

People round here are certainly trying to support one another. Perhaps we will have all learnt something as a result of the experience

Nice post.

A quick look at quantum physics would suggest we are all connected.

For sure.

...whereas many see the Corona/ Covid-19 virus as a great disaster, I prefer to see it as a great corrector...

Let's hope so. CO2 and air pollution have already dropped. I think caging animals in markets will also stop.

Learn world learn.

I think it was the late Peter Cook who said ‘I learn from my mistakes and I can repeat them exactly’. Let’s hope lessons are learned, somehow . . . remains to be seen.

So hope the caged animals stop too. 👍🏻

I agree Sotolol. I'll go one step further - let's hope ALL cruelty to animals stop.

CO2 is NOT an issue, never was. Our current CO2 levels are several levels of magnitude lower than they were millions of years ago. With the slowly increasing CO2 levels caused by the current geological cycle (NOT humans), we are seeing areas that used to be deserts, sprout to life.

I do agree about the pollution though. All the heavy metals and particulate matter in the atmosphere around cities, THAT is certainly killing us. But don't worry about CO2. Without it, we would not be able to breathe and we would not have any food growing at all on this planet. Cheers.

How true! Refreshing to hear from someone who agrees that global warming is not down to humans! This virus shows that we are helpless in the face of mother nature. The earth has been through many cycles and will continue to do so.

Buffafly profile image
Buffafly in reply to MarinaT

No, what it shows is that if we abuse the world instead of caring for it we will be punished. I'm not talking Noah's Flood, I'm talking science. Attributing this disaster to Fate which is what you are doing is a mistake we will all pay for. The world doesn't need us, we need the world.

MarinaT profile image
MarinaT in reply to Buffafly

No, I am not attributing abuse of the earth to fate. I do not condone any kind of earth abuse, I just recognise that we are very arrogant if we believe we can beat nature. Over and over again, nature has shown us that she can rejuvenate better without any help from us.

sotolol profile image
sotolol in reply to Buffafly

We do. We are abusing this beautiful planet.

Maggimunro profile image

I so agree with you Paul. Let’s hope this puts an end to all caged animals, from the acres and acres of beef farms in the USA, pigs in cages, chickens in dreadful factories, dogs for the meat market in the Far East and of course all the wild animals that are caged for food.

Bill and Melinda Gates are breaths of fresh air in a world of unprincipled, greedy grabbers. This is so true and thank you for posting it.

He talks of a sick world - I read a book a couple of years ago which described humanity as similar to an amplifying virus destroying the planet.

One thing which I see already being revealed is the baseness of so many ‘leaders’ (not just political ones, either) and the power and motivation of the usually silent majority.

If you only have eyes for bad things that is all that you will see! Far more good in the world than bad, at times like this better to focus on the good not the bad. Anger only hurts you and that is the voice of experience.

Somewhat profound that Bill Gates is responsible for the global explosion of a certain software system that was so weak it allowed viruses in........

But I do agree with all he said, so he's redeemed himself to a point....

Lovely, It’s from a poem by W H Davies

WHAT is this life if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare?

No time to stand beneath the boughs,

And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,

Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,

Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,

And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can

Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare.

Yes, wise words, but unfortunately I don't think this will stop Bolsonaro cutting down the rain forest, or Putin building more destructive missiles, or China building more coal fired power stations, or the late Abu Bakr al Baghdadi murdering people who didn't share his philosophy, or people keep having more children than they can possibly feed or look after....this list could go on and on, but basically what makes us the most advanced and intelligent species on the planet also makes us good, and bad.

I wonder if Bill Gates would have written something like this if he was in a refugee camp in Turkey?

The comment (if really by BIll Gates) was profound and really makes most of us feel deep inside for eachother.

However, Bill Gates is not practicing what he preaches. His Pirbright Institute has a patent on the virus, his test kit for it is making millions of dollars right now (selling in his home state of Washington). Wouldn't you know, Bill has invested millions upon millions for the vaccine (which he "predicted" some time ago). Create the Problem, make money during the crisis (test kits, ventilators, etc. short sales stock), and then create the Solution (always a no liability for Pharma vaccine in the US)! Making money on all of it. If the entire world is all forced to take his vaccine, which they will mandate (already in Italy), can you even put a number on the billions/trillions Gates will make? Gates' Foundation with (Johns Hopkins), including members of WHO, had a "drill" in October of 2019 in NYC. The drill and conference was in regard to "what if..." a coronavirus outbreak occurred. Next thing you know, Wuhan happens (October). The world is shut down over this. Next thing you know, or next time around (just like the flu season), watch us all be forced to take the vaccine or face permanent "homebound". Nothing like this has ever happened before and yet..are we going to do this every time a virus comes around? We need to find out what started this virus, find the cure (if have a vaccine almost done already, we sure as heck should be able to find a cure). But that would not make money. Something we have to take every year, that will make someone very rich and comfortable. Is anyone seeing a pattern here?

Read the book by Dean Koonz from 1981, "Eyes of Darkness." A bioweapon virus from Wuhan China is exposed and China and US save the day with a vaccine. Life imitating the story line of art. Is that brilliant or evil?
