The cold post ablation

Hello,

I'm now just 6 weeks post ablation. I still get little blips and a bounding pulse every now and then and my heartburn is getting better but I think I'm coming down with a cold.

I have a sore throat (2 days now) and am very tired. No other symptoms. Has anyone else been sick so soon after ablation and found themselves to be more sensitive to symptoms? Do you also feel you heart is in and out of rhythm more often while sick?

If you have an infection I find I am much more susceptible to arrythmias - in fact it’s pretty much the only time I get them now.

If you feel more sensitive then it could be that your autonomic nervous system is still on high alert so you are more sensitive. Still very early days so get plenty of rest and fluids and get better soon.

I had an ablation over 2 years ago and have not had afib since (so far as I know)

I do get ectopics sometimes in long runs , sometimes hardly any for months, but I am pretty sure when I am unwell i get more of them. Of course, it may also be that as I lie there feeling bad I notice them more also!
