Yesterday I had fun with friends we played lasertag. I played 2 rounds (15-20 min). An then I felt my heart pounding when I get back in my car. It lasts maybe 1 hour and half and my heart rate was 120 and decreased slowly to 84. It is the first time it happens, I use to run or practice sport and my heart rate doesn't stay so high for so long.
Any people have similar issue?

It sounds odd to me that it took your heart rate over an hour to recover. Playing laser tag, Im guessing you are young. Do you have any health issues you are aware of? Drinking high caffeine energy drinks?
I was stunned too. Before playing we are a bit of pizza and that's it. My HR went from 120 to 100 30min later and then 30 min later it went from 100 to 90. Except 2 AF episodes last year I don't have any heart issue that I am aware of.
Despite having very few AF episodes I do have this issue similar to how you describe with my heart taking too long to slow after physical exertion. I also feel very nauseas.
I think it is to do with my heart conductivity as that is not so good these days. I have been told that I should have a pacemaker but I am avoiding that option for as long as possible.
Hello John, thank your for those information, I really like your positive note. I will schedule an appointment with my cardiologist soon. Indeed I think it is abnormal to wait few hours to get back to a standard heart rate. I use to practice sport but this is the first time my heart rate decrease so slowly.
I wouldn’t be overly concerned about a one time experience. It may well be that the next time you exert yourself like that your HR drops quickly back to normal. I cycle on an indoor trainer in winter and often do 1hr plus sessions at an average HR over 150, my hr usually drops fairly quickly but sometimes it seems to take AGES to drop back under 100. I haven’t figured out why yet but I have noticed that when it happens, my checking my HR every 60 seconds to se if it has dropped yet actually causes it to raise again and take longer to drop simply because I am fixating on it and dressing.
Can you safely test it again? Something not too strenuous of course but just to see how it responds.
Finally, as per the comments above, if it feels wrong and is really worrying, go to your medical professional. Better safe....
Did you warm up before exertion. My own thoughts as ex marathon runner, cyclist. Is now before any serious exercise slowly warm up. Even getting out of bed to go to the loo from sleep. Do it slowly. After warming up exercise as normal. Similarly slow down slowly, dont just stop.
