All sounds perfectly normal to me. I find if I do breathing deeply, just through my nose, I can bring my pulse down lower. Try it.

Do you have a gizmo to record your pulse rate or do you time it?
I have a gizmo - and my overnight resting pulse is controlled at 50 to 53 by my pacemaker - and my waking pulse is not much higher - but if it is higher I take it as an indication that I am fighting off an infection, or I am stressed about something.
I went on a "challenge" Hill walk on Monday - and my resting pulse rate was slightly elevated before it, but not after.
Hi thank you for your reply !! I just use my Fitbit and check it in a morning!! It’s strange how it has gone up ? I’ve just been doing my hanging baskets and checked it and it’s 74 !!
How long have you been monitoring your pulse with your Fitbit?
The more you worry about it the higher it will get.
How long does it take to go down after exercise?
Hi Edm.
Mine tends to be a little higher in the morning. Always seemed to be 90+ before my CV a couple of days ago - around 60 now.
I`m not a doctor but as a lay person 68 / 69 increasing to 72 / 74 BPM doesn`t sound to much to worry about. I think HR can vary from minute to minute.
Enjoy your day
Best,
Paul
Lots of things can change your resting heart rate, alchohol or caffeine before bed, or also an earlier indicator that you maybe becoming ill.
Thank you for your reply !!! I will keep a check usually only have one or two coffees a day !!
one or two coffees sound fine to me, be interesting to see if you have a cold or something in the next day or so, or whether it changes again!
Mine varies, And since ablation it’s varied more.....those rates sound very normal to me
I think Morzine has hit the nail on the head Edm
Best,
Paul
Cortisol increases around the time that you wake and that will increase your resting heart rate. The resting heart rate will also depend on the amount of cardio exercise that you do. As jeanjeannie writes, your pulse appears normal.
Thank you for your reply !! Think I am worrying a little too much !!
That's interesting about your not needing BP medicine after two ablations. How long were you on BP medicine before your ablations and how high was your blood pressure? After two ablations, I still needed BP meds, but I am having a third ablation on May 27 and hope I will react like you. Did your BP go down immediately after ablation?
