Just received my report but a couple of things confuse me. It says I have a low lying left Atrial appendage. I assume that just means it’s lower than where it usually is but fine.
It also talks about The PV angiogram revealed the common vein. I didn’t know I was having the angiogram. Is that part and parcel of the ablation? Also on the consent form I signed it only says Cryoablation Pulmonary Vein Isolation and a Transoesophageal Echocardiogram. There’s nothing on the report mentioning the TOE so don’t know if it was done. Or........is Toe and PV angio the same but different if you know what I mean?
Many thanks

I think the PV angiogram is part of the procedure to enable them to position the balloon Frances. TOE is not part of the ablation but a precursor to ensure it is safe to do the ablation (make sure there are no clots in the heart) so may not come under the heading of the ablation. . If any had been found then the procedure would have been halted.
LAAs can be in slightly different positions so yours is not right up on the top left. Hearts are not all the same and with your conjoined pulmonary viens (three instead of four? ) yours is a little different but not unique.
Thanks Bob. Didn’t think it was the same but wanted to ask. So would you say I had the Toe but as it was fine and ablation went ahead it didn’t need to be noted on report? X
