I have heard this swap may improve my insomnia, which I am finding very hard on 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol twice a day. Does anyone have specific experience of Nebivolol helping with insomnia issues? I am taking the Bisoprolol for Atrial Tachycardia - not sure if Nebivolol will help? Any experiences gratefully received as I am so exhausted from lack of sleep and it's making me depressed!
Bisporolol to Nebivolol?: I have heard... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Bisporolol to Nebivolol?
So the move really helped? I don't drink caffeine, or alcohol, eat sugar or watch tv or use mobiles before bed - not sure what else to give up! Biso keeping me up for sure. I used to sleep like a baby before this diagnosis three months ago.
Maybe the dose is just too high. 5mg Bisoprolol seems to be standard starting dose dished out in a one size fits all mindframe. Twice I was put on this by hospital cardiologists. The second time I cut it immediately the next day when back in NSR as my first round with Biso had shown me that I could not tolerate this dose. It made me feel like a zombie and I did not sleep well either. I am now on Nebivolol which suits me better. "Luckily" I have mild asthma so getting changed was easy.
Ah well, here's a spanner in the works.....
Despite being in perm AF, since changing from MetoproloI to Bisoprolol, I have not only slept better, but feel generally more "alert" and not like a snail. At echocardiogram 3 weeks ago HR was 67-75.
I guess it illustrates how different AF is to each and every one of us??
The change to Nebivolol helped my sleep but it increased my heart rate and I am now back in AF. ;(
I was on 10 mg once a day in the morning been reduced to 7.5mg more due to low BP due to my IPAH meds not playing with the Bisporolol . Even before that I did not and still do not sleep well?
1.25mg a day. Doc wanted to double it, as HB at that time was 80. I pleaded with him not to, (thinking it would make me snail-like!) and contacted my cardio who is quite happy with the dose. He also did an echo cardiogram to check everything out.
Beofre that, I was on 25mg 2 x day of metoprolol and often felt very sluggish and out of it!
