beta blocker Nebivolol and opinions

After reading, on the forum, posts from several of the members who had been on Bisoprolol and had changed to this beta blocker and reported good effects to the tiredness, breathlessness and gait problems, I finally got the go ahead to try nebivolol from my cardiologist and GP. How have others handled the change over and were there any problems at all.? The only reservation I have with the change is that I was on 10mg of bisoprolol and he is starting me on 5mg of nebivolol so am hoping this will work ok! Fingers crossed will let you know.

I’m one of the people changed from 1.25mg Bisoprolol to 2.5mg Nebivolol six weeks ago and I had no problems with the changeover, other than a very mild headache for a couple of days.

In that time I’ve had a handful of ectopics and they seem to have had the ‘edge’ taken off them, but that could be the slightly higher dose. I assume your doc is taking things slowly by starting off low and seeing if you need a higher dose.

I hope you find Nebivolol as helpful and calming as I have.

Also one of the ones recently changed over to Nebivolol nearly three months now. I was on 5mg of Biso and have stayed with the same dosage and all has been fine. As with Finvola I feel much better on Nebivolol, breathing better, more alert and generally better. Hope you have the same outcome.

I was on 5 mg Bisoprolol but it made me just so tired. Switched to 2.5 mg Nebivolol early 2017, (equivalent to 5mg Bisoprolol I was told) Now take 5 mg Nebivolol. Still fatigue but nowhere as bad as before. I have a pacemaker and HR is steady at 60bpm

Hello guys

I’m Moo from Jordan in the Middle East and I can’t thank all the members here enough for the participation that let me feel that I was not the only one suffering from the ugly side effects.

I’m 43 male with two heart attacks and 4 stents. My last hear attack was in Aug 13 this year and earlier attack was on Nov 2010. I was on Bisoprolol 5 mg since 2010 and I can’t describe the hell I was in at the start and kind of improved in a year but still an issue and I had to live with it. After my 2nd heart attack and for unknown reasons I could not tolerate Bisoprolol anymore and had continuous shortness of breath and dizziness and I was lucky to be with one of the best cardiologist in the Middle East region and he have switched me to Nebivolol 5 mg and suggested a 2.5 mg if HR and BP ok. I have to say I felt slightly better but when switching to 2.5 mg it is like night and day. Currently and after a week on 2.5 mg Nebivolol my HR is at low 60s when lying down and high 70s low 80s when sitting in a chair and 108-116 when walking for 35 mins.

I reduced my smoking and lost 25 pounds in a month after walking and a strict healthy diet which my doctor advised me that walking and reducing weight will keep reducing my HR to a safe zone for my case. I was one of the few cases where I had a heart attack without actually having a hypertension. My current BP is around 102-110/70-80.

I have one piece of advice to buy the new Apple Watch 4 or a similar thing since it helped me monitor my HR and log results and send it to my cardiologist all the time.

Sorry for the long post but I was excited from day one that I was not the only one suffering from Bisoprolol.

Hello Moo1975 , good to hear from you.

This is an old thread and it might be better to cut and paste your reply as a new post with your own title and any questions you may have.

Welcome to the forum.
