Firstly I just want to say thankyou to all the lovely members on this site. I have learnt so much from reading everyone's posts & the fantastic replies!
I am having my ablation tomorrow. I'm first in at 8.15am!! I met my electrophysicist this morning & he has really helped to put my mind at ease.
I've had to fly interstate to get the procedure done. He is very down to earth, genuine & knowledgeable. He's outlined the 'success rates' & his future plan. He likes to do a second one after about 4 months if the firdt is unsuccesdful. I will also have to have a pacemaker at some stage in the future. That's for a seperate issue. Hoping too get the AF under control first.
Thanks to this forum I've got my sports drink bottle packed & I'm expecting it to take longer than 2 weeks beforeI start to feel okay 🤣🤣
I'll update you all over the next few days!

The ablation itself went very well & they are confident they got all the dodgy impulses.
Unfortunately they did find a lot of old scarring on my heart & my heartrate is quite slow & sluggish.
I will be having a pacemaker inserted sometime soon.
I've scored a second night in hospital as I had blurry vision & dizziness this morning. Luckily that has all resolved now. I also had a huge hematoma last night too.
Apart from being tired I feel pretty good, all things co sidered. I'm looking forward to getting home & resting in my own bed.
