Well this is the sixth day that I’m in AF and so fed up with it. Had ECG and sent it to my arrhythmia nurse so am on the long waiting list for a Cardioversion. Also have chronic heartburn and burning tongue. So depressed
AF again: Well this is the sixth day... - Atrial Fibrillati...
AF again
Awwww Redders, sorry to hear that, not heard from you for a while so hoped things had settled for you. Have you ever discussed PiP option with your doctor, if not, might be worth asking your Arrhythmia Nurse......hope things improve soon.....xx
I converted naturally after 9 days I just tried to relax and not worry about it. I converted whilst stroking some horses in field nearby couldn’t believe it. Wish you a speedy resolution.
I think we should go see the horse doctor - second person this week to say that stroking an animal helped them to convert to NSR - I think you may be onto something cmundo.
Oh no... sending you a big hug X hope you feel better soon :o)
Commiserations, so sorry to hear that. I have to say that I felt a lot worse with Flutter than with Fib. Why is there SUCH a long list for cardioversion? Our area getting treatment other than drugs seems to take forever. I do hope that things improve for you sooner rather than later.
Sorry to hear this Tedders. I expect you've tried all the usual breathing and relaxation ideas? I found once I tried to ignore it it helped resolve..easier said than done I agree. Best wishes xxxx
Really feel for you, your AF journey hasn't been easy. I don't know what you have been told, but I always take at least 200mg of flecainide when I have an episode and so far it works. Might be worth checking it out with your team. Here's hoping your appointment for cardioversion come through very soon.
Redders
Sorry to hear about your situation. I also have had a number of cardioversions, two catheter ablations and one transthoracic ablation for AF. Have been'almost' free of AF for almost three years. Had a week long'incident' of fibrillation a couple of weeks ago. Turned out to be atrial flutter, so I off for a right atrial ablation next week. Might suggest that you chase up this possibly with your EP. Hope this helps.
The power of horse medicine - courtesy of my step-daughter who works as a trainer for riding for the disabled. Amazing intuition.
Really sorry to hear this Redders, was in the Same position last week and it’s so disappointing if you’ve been in sinus for a while. I take Flecainide as pill in the pocket but was told to take 200mg in one dose, this may work for you. Hoping you spontaneously convert. Big hugs 🤗
I’ve had 3 ablations so don’t know whether I can have a fourth.
Before my ablation whenever I needed a cardioversion I just walked in the ER waited for whichever EP was on call to get there and I was usually out of the hospital in a few hours good to go!! Just go in and tell them you need cardioverted. It doesn’t have to be an EP that does it. It can be an ER doctor. What do you mean a long list of people before you? Nobody should have to suffer like that I’m sorry.
Is it common for episodes to last this long?
Mine always start at night while I'm sleeping and with a few exceptions last 12 to 18 hours. I thought this was typical. Is it not?
Just FYI, on the few occasions they've lasted 24 hours or more I've gone to the ER where they give me an intravenous drip of diltiazem and I quickly go back to a sinus rhythm.
Sorry to hear you feel depressed, think I know that feeling too!
