Palpitations
I've just had a look at the Viatom website and assume you have the Viatom
Check me model.
Next, are these your words (when I’m having palpitations that my heart is irregular) or are they the exact words that appear on the screen of the device. What I'm trying to get at is how do you know that they are palpitations.
I have a similar device, but a different brand, which has 3 options to get a waveform recording which I can down load to software and then print as a hard copy. Mine does not specifically identify palpitations, but it does record heart rate, fast beat, slow beat etc etc or no irregularity at all.
Does your device define any other irregularity apart from palpitations. How often does your device define an irregularity. I mean my device has two modes, normal and enhanced. The enhanced mode is to neutralise any household or other interference and give a more specific and accurate reading.

It feels like palpitations to me but the monitor says my heart is irregular
As I understand matters, a palpitation is simply an awareness of the heartbeat. A palpitation that is irregular, however, is most likely to be one or more ectopic beats. I gather that these are fairly “normal” and usually an inconsequential arrhythmia. I’ve had them for decades, but I’m having far more since my recent ablation. I am told they can also be a precursor to atrial fibrillation as they arise in the same part of the pulmonary vein.
