Does anyone else get an aching pain across your chest during and after a bout of AF? To me it feels like my heart is banging so hard against my chest that it is bruised!!

That lovely feeling when your chest feels ok means I’ve gone back into NSR! All part of the rollercoaster!

Pain in my chest that comes in waves is the main problem with me when I have an episode and always has been. It leaves me exhausted for the following couple of days. I agree with Jenbo6 that as soon as I go back into NSR it stops and yes it is a lovely feeling of relief and I am not dying after all!!😂😂

Yes quite often,it feels like a dull ache which gradually fades.I didnt used to get this .However,I recently started Tai Chi beginners class, which includes a lot of focus on breathing.I have found it is very effective at easing this sensation.Worth a try? You can find youtube clips to follow if no classss near you.

My brother tells me if you press your chest and the pain increases,it is not cardio related...

Yes that feeling when you know that particular episode has finished is wonderful. Sometime I get an aching afterwards but I’ve always put it down to the afteraffects of tension during AF.

Yes, spoke to my EP ablations Ute it who didn’t seem at all interested - as long it is an ache and not a stabbing pain.

Yes, my chest gets very achey. Currently in AF so yes, there it is, ache ache ache...

I used to get angina type pains when in AF, but not any more, I wonder if it's because I've lost weight and there's less burden on my heart. However, I still always get an achey slight burning feeling in the heart area, I think it's heart muscle fatigue. I spray my arms with magnesium spray and hope it helps.

Yes, I get chest pain, mine is a dull ache in the center of my chest. It’s one of the symptoms of an episode for me. I was tested and told I had mild angina.

Agree with Wendywu20 above, I think it must be tiring for you heart banging and wobbling at 130-170 for hours at a time.

I get it with AFlutter, heart is working overtime and gets tired/achy

When I had AF for 10-12 hours, I would get sore/painful chest for a couple of days afterwards. I even went to A&E for it once because: chest pain.

When Flecainide PiPs reduced episodes to just a few hours I stopped getting the pain.

Gosh it really is Draining for me I’m in AF all the time now. It’s been 18 months.

Tired, tired,tired

I’m up having a warm drink at the moment trying to take my mind off my Heart banging away, it’s worse when I lay.

Will I ever be normal again ????? I cannot remember what that was like.

It’s a pain at times having AF & unless people been through it they don’t understand one bit one gets fed up

Thankyou for listening to my grouch

I get an ache in the centre of my breast bone. At first I thought it was heart burn.

Hi, yes definitely I get this too and for me I just assume it's a pain from my breast cancer on my left side but often worry it's actually from my heart. Very hard to figure out if I should be doing something about it. Now on reading your post I will take more notice of this pain which sometimes means I have to just sit down or in some cases lean against a lampost if I'm out with the dog.

Stay well,
