Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could help me understand my ECG any better?
Thank you.
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could help me understand my ECG any better?
Thank you.
I don’t think we really should comment unless we are an experienced cardiologist with the training and expertise (which I am most certainly not) however may I suggest if you would like to better understand ECG readings that you visit the educational library which comes with your app and explains many of the rhythms - open your app, click on the menu option top left of screen and scroll down to Heart Education and open Arrythmia library.
My only caution would be that the Kardia ECG is based on one lead and although incredibly helpful is not a substitute for a full 12 lead so if you have any concerns, do try get a full 12 lead ECG and speak to your doctor.
I think there's a lot of interference on that ekg. If you read the tips Kardia gives about that you should get a decent recording. Apart from that it just looks like a fast HR of some sort.
I am no expert - but you seem to have a large t-wave, and there is not a very big gap between the t-wave and the p-wave.
The t-wave is when the ventricles relax, and the p-wave is when the atria contract to fill the ventricles - so, obviously, the t-wave needs to be before the p-wave.
My ECG is very different, with a long flat section between the t wave and the qrs complex, see:
I have a Kardia. It's made me an amateur ECG student. I learn by "Googling" ECG images and wading through lots of ECG video lessons designed for nurses.
I am developing a theory that people with arrhythmia don't have textbook ECGs. They may have tachycardia, but also Atrial fibrillation. As others have said, for a real explanation you need an expert and the extra info provided by the hospital 12? lead ECG.
Hi GuyThoma, thank you for your reply - it sounds like we're in the same boat (researching)... Unfortunately, I don't seem to have the 'episodes' when hooked up the 12 lead; however the Cardiologist advised me to get the Kardia, in the hope of capturing sufficient information to define what the cause may be...
Hi Dr Dave, thank you for your reply.
The ECG was taken with no activity or anxiety - the heart rate kept going up that evening for no apparent reason.
I've been to the GP and a Cardiologist and had numerous tests (ECG, Holter, Echo) done, although the symptoms come and go and usually not present when the tests are completed... To-date, we haven't been able to classify what the underlying issue could be.
I've been prescribed Bisoprolol 2.5mg that does seem to minimise symptoms (fast heart rate), though I still get palpitation sensations etc. from time to time.
My Cardiologist suggested that I purchase the Kardia AliveCor and try to capture events on there. I sent this strip off for review and the report said profound tachycardia with abnormal atrial rhythm... Still living in hope that I can document whatever is causing it.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
I have a Kardia - but I have given up trying to get it to work.
I did sen of one or two traces for analysis - but, like you, I did not get any useful information back.
Hi.. since you have both a copy of the rhythm strip and the Kardia reviewer report of “ profound tachycardia with abnormal atrial rhythm”, you have captured one of your ‘events’. You should make an appointment with your own cardiologist and take him/her a print copy for evaluation.
Hi Texigal, thank you for your reply.
I am following the process where I live, I’ve sent them to my GP who sends it to the Cardiologist (who will review and respond in time). I have an appointment scheduled with my GP next week also.
