New to this! GP on tablet review took pulse, irregular, has been for years I said. Nonetheless he sent me to see cardiologist who after ecg advised that I had AF, ok and ? We will fit 24 hour ecg and bp monitors next week and see what those results are. Not until I found this site and began reading did I have many concerns, after all I have metastatic prostate c high blood pressure with a great smoking, drinking lifestyle. Touch wood I don’t seem to have many of the symptoms described or will they be coming or am I just used to them. Resting hb today 57, now the lawns and it goes up to 100 ish then after a few minutes back to the 60/70’s. no now 153/71 pulse 66. Am I living a dream or heading to a crash. Just been put on edoxaban, diuretic changed and bisoprolil reduces from 10 mg to 5mg.

Sounds like your GP is on top of things. Diuretic should keep water retention under control. Bisoprolol can make you light headed. If that's a problem, see if GP will allow you to reduce the dosage.

Heading for a crash I would say, tbough not necessarily for AF related reasons as long as you take the Edoxaban as advised. That said, try not to fall over. 🙂

If you haven't had symptoms from AF they won't suddenly start. My husband has permanent AF and denies any symptoms ( he does get breathless but says not) He has cut down on alcohol a great deal as he is on warfarin and stopped smoking many moons ago

Hi Dondodoc, well we're all heading for a "crash". Everything depends on how you fill the

time between now and the final au revoir. May I suggest you pack in the weeds and booze, you really shouldn't be doing those at your age sunshine. Inasmuch as your bp looks high at 151/71 , investment in a blood pressure monitor from Boots is recommended. You can then take your own bp in a relaxed atmosphere, and you will most likely find your bp is almost normal. Only your diastolic shows high, your systolic is quite

ok, no worries. As for bisoprolol even 5mg can have debilitating side effects, so keep an eye on that. Too many visits to your Doc could make you feel ill too, those people like "ticking boxes" and you'll be on everything before you know it matey. Good luck and remember

"fags and booze" a no no !

Sorry Dondodoc I got Diastolic and Systolic wrong way round, much apologies, too early in the morning and had a lousy nights sleep here too ! Best wishes also.

My mum had AF with no symptoms and lived to be nearly 92. I have it but get the nasty break dancers in my chest. I don't smoke but I like a few g&t's. I can no longer drink wine because it definitely triggers an episode. In the words of Queen who wants to live forever? Of course everything in moderation but see how your ecg goes, my hr is 44 my bp is controlled by drugs. Best wishes.

Interesting reading. Seven days ago ( April 26) , had Afib and Aflutter Ablation; on April 1 prior had Aflutter ablation: 10 days later dizzy , light headed , shortness of breath so went back in for #2 Ablation. April one easy recovery til 10 days later. April 26 , slow taxing recovery, getting better each day : last night walked 1 1/2 mile av 4mph , getting better , hr up to 140 back down after within 10 minutes to 60s ,

No smoking history, some drinking socially, ran track in college, played rugby till age 44, always athletic, now diet conscious, love physical challenges, trim and aggressive at almost 82 and198 lbs.Don’t like pills so now taking 3-5 daily is not fun. Exercise daily but very limited during this recovery period. 3 months seems a long way off but everyday is better. Love Life and looking forward!

I didn't know you could have 2 ablations so close together - must have taken some getting over? Did you have ga each time?

Good to hear your feeling better

First one was twilight anesthesia , second one completely under. First one a walk in the park while #2 was and is a bit tougher.
