Keeping active has benefits.

Hi jonjub,
Thanks for that .... most interesting in itself, but what I found more interesting is the bit on the right on Alzheimer's ............particularly in the context that my dear brother in law has just been diagnosed with dementia.

Very interesting article. I am certainly feeling the benefit of more exercise, spread more evenly rather than 2 set sessions a week. Thanks for sharing.
Also read the Alzeimers article, raising the importance of careful mouth hygiene as a link appears to have been established between gingivitis bacteria and the development of Alzeimers. As we know, good mouth hygiene is recommended anyway for reduction of risk of heart related conditions.
Very interesting and certainly gives hope
Regarding your post! The most recent study from Harvard reflected that doing push ups (USA) or press ups (UK) reduces your chances of a heart attack dramatically. The study of men (firefighters) showed that doing 40 push ups consecutively empowers your heart. It is a great goal for all of us affected by a-fib. Another study showed that doing just 1 weight lifting session a week for an hour cuts risk for stroke and heart attack up to 70%. (Dr. Mercola). Great goals for the a-fib crowd. Going out right now to do my 50 for today!
I would think that resistance training might provoke episodes of adrenergic type AF. I don’t think Dr Mercola had AF in mind in his article.
