Hi. Had my operation late yesterday. I went into very fast AF on the table and panicked my surgeon. I am told they gave me a large dose of Amniodrone.l had to stop Appixaban 48 hours before and have not yet restarted. I can't wait to get home, but cannot do much at the moment.

Hello Marina - good that it’s over and you can concentrate on taking it very, very easy and getting better. I agree that home is the best place to be but, I would imagine the docs will keep an eye on you for a while yet!

I wish you a speedy recovery and a quiet heart. Big cyber hug and a bunch of cyber flowers. 💐🥀🌺🌼🌹🌹

Have you someone at home to look after you when you leave hospital? You are going to feel really weak and totally drained for many weeks. I remember that even washing my hair was exhausting and warranted a sleep afterwards.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hi Marina. I wish you a very speedy recovery. Every single time I’ve had surgery in the past 9 yrs, (since I have a fib) I go into a fib about 2 days later and have to be hospitalized.

I was on Amiodarone for 25 days. I hope you don’t have to take it anymore. It’s a very bad and dangerous drug not even approved by the FDA for use in afib. From what you said it seems like they just gave you a large dose and that’s it and I pray that’s what it is.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. When you get home please rest and no pushing yourself. Your body has been through anaesthetic and surgery so be gentle and kind to yourself. No lifting pulling or pushing anything over a few pounds. I hope you have someone to help you and maybe even wait on you😉😉 It s over 20yrs since I had same op and I didn't have afib then but I remember how weak I was for a few weeks. The "brat" afib needs minding too. Best wishes with everything. Sending you healing love. Carole
