Organized Atrial Tachycardia versus Normal Sinus Rhythm.

Had my last appointment for 2018 at the EP Cardiologist who informed me that I was in Organized Atrial Tachycardia which at the time sounded to me, like a variety of Normal Sinus rhythm however it is not- since it is not coming from the SA node.

Does anyone have this type of rhythm?

The EP Cardiologist did not seem too concerned... he is seeing me again in 6 months and I am starting a lower dose of Cardizem.

I had never heard of this.I am not sure, as a non doctor, your EP should be so blase about this .Check it up by typing in the condition on google as I did for a simple but medical explanation.

Tachycardia is defined as being a fast regular heart beat over 100bpm.

I had it for three months last year and I have a copy of a letter from my EP to another doctor, who was dealing with an allergy I have, stated that it was not good for me to stay in Atrial Tachycardia long term.

Yes I have this. “Organised atrial tachycardia” is apparently synonymous with “left atrial flutter” which is not uncommon after pulmonary vein isolation. In my case Nebivolol seems to give me reasonable rate control. I believe diltiazem (cardizem) is effective too. I am due to have a 7 day holter to check my mean ventricular rate. Apparently further ablation is another option, though at the moment I am fairly asymptomatic.
