In our forum, I often read posts about magnesium but not about potassium. Are some of u also taking supplements of potassium. Any recommendation? Thanks

Potassium
Bananas are meant to be a good natural source of potassium so I tend to have one each day. I guess there are good potassium supplements but not taken any personally.
I would rather get my source of potassium naturally through food like:
Bananas, oranges, cantaloupe, honeydew, apricots, grapefruit (some dried fruits, such as prunes, raisins, and dates, are also high in potassium)
Cooked spinach.
Cooked broccoli.
Potatoes.
Sweet potatoes.
Mushrooms.
Peas.
Cucumbers.
Tablet's have fillers added to make the pill and these bulk up and bind the ingredients together, these fillers do not always agree with everyone.

As I understand it potassium is best prescribed via a GP following a test that shows you are low in potassium.I believe potassium tests are now done regularly by GPs or their nurse when you have your yearly or perhaps six monthly blood tests at your surgery. So discuss it with your GP if you think perhaps you are low in potassium.
I take a magnesium supplement and banana and almonds for potassium each day. Not sure they help but I like them anyway!😄
A blood test showed my potassium level was a bit low a couple of years ago. My GP advised eating bananas so since then I have one every day, usually sliced into porridge for breakfast. Potassium levels all ok since then.
I was advised to take a Mg compound that includes potassium and other good stuff for the heart e.g. taurine
Careful . My blood tests show potassium slightly higher than normal and that can be as bad as too low. Get a blood test before taking extra.
Good advice in these replies. My physician advised eating one banana a day. I learned about magnesium taurate on this website and began taking a 400 mg tablet twice a day about a year ago. I am 76 and in permanent, asymtomatic afib with a defribillator implant. Have not had an ablation. I also take 12.5 mg. Carvedilol and 5 mg Eliquis twice a day. A recent echo-cardiogram showed normal output and heart function for my age. I attribute this to a good diet, dietary supplements, exercise and watching my weight. My wife and I were able to take a wonderful cruise around the British Isles last year that could never have happened 3 years ago.
