Dear all
My physio suggests a tens machine on my cervical neck to try to help with chronic tinnitus
I had an ablation for paf 18 months ago and all good.
Any thoughts on usage of the machine
Thanks
Rod

I asked my af nurses about using a tens machine on my back. They said it shouldn't be a problem and it wasn't. But everyone has different triggers and odd things can set people off.
I'd check with your arrythmia nurses. I use a vibrating massage gun without problems , which I know is different, just saying 🙂
Hello I use a tens on my upper and lower back for pain . Even though the instructions caution about it’s use if suffering from heart issues , my EP said it was fine to use.To be on the safe side ask your dr .some people might trigger an episode while using one , we are all different . Good luck .Mary
Tininitus is like AF, in that it can vary. If I'm aware of my tinitus it will increase in volume. I have tried a TENS unit on my neck and shoulder for pain but not tinitus. Tinitus can get louder if you focus on it. The TENS sensation could shift your focus away from tinitus so you wouldn't notice it so much.
I use a Tens Machine with no issues xx
Hi 7164, I believe official advice is not to use in the thoracic (chest) area if you have AF or any heart condition. I'd take that to mean anywhere north of the waistline to be honest. While this probably wouldn't be dangerous for you, it could provoke an episode of AF, so maybe don't proceed without further professional reassurance that it's OK.
I use one regularly and never had heart trouble from it. I could not live without my tens. They work great for muscle pain.
