Anticoagulants and upset tum

Hi, should I be worried about my anticoagulants? I had very bad upset tum on Thursday night Friday morning IBS I believe diarrhoea it has eased off a bit not so bad will my anticoagulants still be working OK? Thank you.

Hi Scoobisu, it might help if you tell us which anticoagulant you take. I’m not medically trained, but I understand DOAC’s rely on the kidneys, but I’m not sure if diarrhoea would effect INR for warfarin. If you are in the UK, I suggest you speak to your pharmacist.....

I'm on Edoxaban (Lixiana) 60mg so DOAC. I haven't been able to get out of the house but I guess I could ring pharmacy. It's eased off lots now. Thank you.

Whatever you do do not take extra doses. Just carry on as normal is the best advice.

I agree with Bob If I'm right if not all the dose least some of it will take effect and continue to give some pretention That's for all medication you take to

I wouldn't think it would be a big risk missing the occasional dose. After all, how long were you at risk before you started taking anticoagulants?
