Who would be interested in coming along for a late breakfast and natter at The Rougemont Hotel in Exeter (right opposite Exeter Central Railway Station) on either Wednesday the 12th September or Wednesday 26th September at 11am. We will have to go with the date the majority can make. Cereal, yogurts and a cooked breakfast with tea or coffee for 10pounds (pound sign not working). Everyone welcome, please reply with your preferred date, we would love to meet you all.

Hi Bob and Jean
Yes I would love to come I would prefer 12th but I have to be honest I can make either. I really could do with natter sadly for other reasons I have had to give up my voluntary work and feeling bit lonely. Hopefully see you soon x
Oh how wonderful! I so wish I could come, but I’m too far away and probably wouldn’t be up to it anyway. But it’s a great idea, and I hope you all have a fab time
J x
Im in the middle of the USA and my private jet(🙄) is in for repairs but will b there in spirit! How fun it would be if all of us could gather together and chat in person,
Hi Rebma I actually texted you awhile ago about my EP in Hackensack Medical I saw him Tues and he said you weren’t in touch, hope you’re feeling well . I live about 40 minutes from city in Rockland Cty Ny
Sorry I don’t know if I saw it. Would you mind sending me info again. I seem to be going backwards instead of forward. Do you also see a cardiologist out of Hackensack medical. Hackensack is about 45 minutes from where I live. Thank yiu
My Electrophysiologist is at Hackensack his name is Glaudio Radaslovich he’s wonderful just did my pacemaker. My cardiologist is in Rockland where I live but needed the best to convert me and he sent me to Dr Radaslovich who gave me meds heavy duty for 3 weeks and did my cardiversion . I have been in SR no AFIB since April 2017. I know it can return but enjoying the normal heart rhythm for as long as I can
Thank you. Did the pacemaker not control your afib? What medicines we’re yiu on? Did u get cardioverted after pacemaker? This afib is not good. Thank yiu
My AFIB was the worst up alnight blood pressure high day and night I was ready to jump from a bridge. First conversion took no prep meds lasted 7 days Dr Rad put me on 400mg amiodarone 2 times a day and Magnesium 400 twice a day. Then hit me with the conversion pads. After pacemaker I actually wen t from high pressure to 65 controlled. AFIB can still come back with pacemaker. Off amiodarone after 1 year wreaking havoc on eyes got hypothyroidism from that med but helped with conversion. Now just praying I stay in SR
I was on that horrible medicine for a month high dose then tapered off. I now have deposits on my corneas. Wants to see eye specialist. So far thryoid is ok but who knows. I would rather have had a broken leg or arm than this afib. Changed my whole life. Always live in fear of it
I know how you feel I was mad at the world when I went into AFIB during a stomach surgery. Have had 3 more cancer surgeries since and pray every time I go under the knife. Dr Rad told me it’s the luck of the draw that if I flip he will always be there to try something new. I really think that worrying is my downfall too. Everyday I take my pressure and monitor my heart. Have a machine that alerts the Dr if I flip but believe me I will definitely know. Keep your chin up and think about another opinion at Hackensack
Do you have the kardia monitor? Does your readings go to Dr rad or your cardiologist. I find it the worse because I am afraid to venture too far from home. I was so active and my husband and I traveled I worked. If you don’t mind my asking what age category do yiu fall under.
No I don’t have the Kardia monitor I have a small box that is called a Latitude from Boston Scientific thats the company that made my pacemaker it alerts my cardiologist who in turn alerts me but Dr Radaslovich said if I need him to he can always get reading to checkI just turned 73 and get what you are saying my husband and I did a lot more than we do now. Its mostly Atlantic City but love Saratoga
How long have you had afib? My neighbor has a pacemaker and she had a slow heart rate that is why they put her in. I am 64 but feel like 104. Lost so much weight. It not on purpose. Sorry about your cancer surgeries you have been through so much. You are very strong.
Had my first afib attack in 2016I was healthy except for breast and bladder cancers. When I came out of Surgery Dec 19th 2016 I was in Afib I wish they tried to correct it before I came out of hospital on the 29th. My heart raced since then but after my kidney was removed June 2017: the meds I was on controlled my heart but slowed heart to 45 that’s when we decided pacemaker would be about best solution
Sorry Rebma hope I didn’t confuse you. Pacemaker installed last week a year after conversion

I agree. I used to travel a lot when I was young. It was easier and from Miami I could often fly to Europe for less air fare than it cost to fly to California. Plus my sister was married to a Scotsman for a time in the 90's. They lived in Cumbria and I could look out their living room window and see the sheep in the field. Also there was a farm down the road for fresh eggs. What a nice way to live. I have always lived in big American cities. The sameness of our big cities leaves a lot to be desired in the charm category for me. We have a lot of states here to visit but for me, travel means crossing a big body of water, using different money, and often hearing a different language.
Oh that sounds fun Jean. Wish I could come but Exeter is a bit far from me and although my sister lives near Launceston we probably won't be visiting her in September.
Have a lovely time and if any of you ever visit North Yorkshire do let me know - we could have tea in Betty's!
Wow Dee, small world! They've got a second one at Harlow Carr gardens now but it doesn't have the same feel as the one in town. Husband was at Harrogate hospital for over 30 years, it's where we met. You weren't working there too were you?
Talking of hospitals, hope you don't mind my asking, but how did things go last Friday?
😁 You’re comment reminded me of my favourite TV ad at the moment. It’s for our powerball lotto. I thought BobD might appreciate this too, being mechanical.
I may well be in Exeter towards the end of September (my home town) so will put the dates in my diary. It's a long time since I have been to the Rougemont, it has changed a lot over the years. Hope to see you there.
Hi Jean - Seems I will not be able to attend now. Hubby had has is six month prostate check up yesterday and they want an urgent scan done and it should be either Wednesday or Thursday next week, have not heard yet. I really was looking forward to seeing you all.
Good morning. That sounds lovely. It's a bit of a journey for me but on a direct train line. I could carry on down to Dawlish afterwards! Either day would be fine for me.
Hi both, I'd love to be able to come and meet everybody but alas, a quite separate autoimmune illness combined with its toxic medication has robbed me of my independence and all vitality. Looking on the bright side - perhaps at a future date? Hope you all enjoy a really great get-together and look forward to the feedback.
I woud love to come, am on direct train from Bath so no problem. either date. what time do you mean "late breakfast", could do with some like minded people to talk to. fed up with people who dont get what I say about AF. Anne
Would like to come but at the moment not sure which date would suit as we are off on holiday in September hopefully a late deal so things are up in the air, will keep an eye on the posts.
Would love for you to come. It's looking like we're going to be getting together on the 26th as that's what most prefer.
Jean
Hiya Jean,
I can make either dates. I plan to drive up ( I am between Hayle and Camborne) and if it is OK I'd like to bring my more intelligent half with me. The one who keeps me going. Be good to catch up with Bob again and to meet you.
I'll see you on the 26th. Let me know if there is any change please. MaryC {As I was until I had to change my email address and I was told the name was already in use!}
It will be great to meet you Frammy. We are going to have our late breakfast get-together on the 26th September as that's the date most have said is best for them.
