Is anyone interested in coming along for a cooked breakfast get-together at the Mercure, Rougemont Hotel in Exeter, Devon, EX4 3SP (Phone: 0871 376 9018)?
It's at 11am on Wednesday the 3rd April 2019. Cost of breakfast £10 per person (with toast as well this time).
No formal speakers, but just a chance to meet and have a good chat with other people who understand AF.
The hotel is right opposite Exeter Central Railway Station in the heart of the town centre. Or for people who may know the town centre and not the railway station, just around the corner from M&S in Queen Street.

That's nice to hear that you'd like to come along.
After this next meeting we'll try to have an afternoon tea, or lunch one so that, hopefully, you can all make it. The evenings will be a bit lighter for you then as you travel home.
Would have loved a chance to meet up with you all, I've been following all your Q & A's for a long time now and derived so much knowledge and comfort from you all but living in the north of Scotland makes it a tad impractical. Enjoy your brekkies!
Yes, Northern Scotland is a bit too far to come! Are there any AF groups in your area? Glad to hear you gain knowledge and comfort by reading the forum. Stick with us.
I doubt if there are any groups near me considering the vast area our hospitals have to cover. Inverness is where my Cardiologist is (about half an hour away for me) but Aberdeen is where the EP is and thats about a 3 to 4 hour train journey. Distance complicates everything.
Just checked flights and hotel and it’s “doable” for me. The airport seems close to the city centre which is handy, and the hotel rates are very good. Plus I’ve never been to Devon. Wonder if I could persuade Finvola to go? I hate those wee Flybe planes and she could hold my hand! 🤔
Hope to be able to come. I enjoyed the last Breakfast. My email address has changed to mary.chesney3@gmail.com and Health unlocked tells me there is a problem with replying on the site so I hope you get this Mary
Hello, I live in Plymouth so easy for me to get there and I would like to come. Rather depends on how I go on as I am listed for my first ablation March 28th. Eek.
Hmm, its difficult to know how you are going to be feeling so soon after your ablation. I guess it will depend on how much work they have to do. I've had 3 ablations and I don't think I'd be booking myself to do anything much that soon, unless I was being ferried by car and dropped right outside the hotel and picked up afterwards. Much as I'd love to meet you I think it would be too soon after your ablation and you are likely to be feeling really tired. You can always prove me wrong and insist on coming - you're most welcome, but I honestly wouldn't advise it unless someone else drives you .
Please let us know how your ablation goes and how you feel afterwards. I can always add you to the list the day before the breakfast, the hotel couldn't object to me adding just one last minute person.
Thank you, I will be sensible and listen to my body. I definitely wouldn't drive. If I am fit enough my husband can drive me. We'll see, could be cancelled of course if emergencies come in!
Will let you know how it goes.
I'm in flecainide 50 BD and no AF since starting it in Sept.
I've not had my pre op yet, wondering if I stay on it after the ablation. Did you?
It’s 14,704 kms from Perth to Exeter so I won’t be able to drop in. I’m sure with technology though we should be able to organise a virtual hookup one day where we can all say hello “in person”. Have fun!
