Excellent talk CD - if only, if only . . .
How many of us could been shown how to minimise fear of our out of control hearts at diagnosis with such advice. How much time and resources of our health service could be saved by informed, engaged patients.
We have talked so often on this forum about the points raised by Dr Wilk - her talk in Devon should be interesting.
Thank you CD, totally on-board with her theory.
Thank you for bringing Dr Wilk's talk to this forum. This idea of personal agency is something I have been struggling with for the past 8 months. Sometimes as my body has undergone more & more tests, I feel It dislocated from my whole. I feel so overwhelmed sometimes that I hibernate & only go to appointments & do the essentials. But when I practice mindfulness, go to Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention sessions, practice yoga, use breathing to deal with the stress plus a mindfulness app called Calm & be proactive & very importantly try to be grateful, I deal with things much better. Thank you for posting this excellent talk. What compassion Dr Wilk shows.
Hi CD, Just sent a light-hearted! response to your Exeter piece. Thank you for this post. Finding AF forum very comforting. Grateful to make contact with fellow Calmist. I live on the Great Dividing Range in South East Queensland, Australia, so I won't be able to be in Devon by July. Bloody chilly here this week. Regards em.
