Hi. Just found this site.

Does anyone on here connect nhs hearing aids (mine are oticon sprite) to iphone, tv or tablet to listen to music, audible books, iplayer etc. If yes, how. Streamer or is bluetooth possible yet? Wondering if I could maje better use of them.

Thanks

I not sure whether you can use your particular hearing aid in this manner. But I have a Phonak one which has a sort of remote control link and attaches to my TV. It then transmits a signal very clearly by FM to my hearing aid it is really marvellous. I can also hang the remote control around someone's neck in a very very noisy environment and I can hear them perfectly. it also transmits and receives bluetooth to my iPhone and computer. But it costs about 2 to £3000 so I doubt whether the NHS would pay for it. But for me it's worth the cost because it made a huge difference to my hearing ability

Not sure what that has to do with atrial fibrillation but since I have a streamer and a hearing aid I can say that you can use the streamer to listen to TV and also links to mobile phone. It uses bluetooth from memory but haven't used it since bought a car with automatic phone link.

Maybe a mistake but I think very relevant for us AFers. I have NHS hearing aids and bad tinnitus in one ear. One audiologist I saw said those with AF are 2 to 3 times more likely to need a hearing aid and 2 to 3 times more likely to have tinnitus.

Thats interesting however i think i inherited from my Dad. He died two years ago aged 99 and with all his marbles but almost deaf. So hope i didnt just inherit his bad hearing!

Thanks for reply.

AFers are great so although mistake glad i posted this here.

Just checking on google - do you mean oticon spirit 3 or zest?

These models only have wireless connection if they are the "c" models. It doesn't look like the NHS Supply these! About £3000 for a pair rather than £100 for yours

However there are devices you can plug in to create your own loop system or Bluetooth link to loop, but reviews seem variable and adapted plugs may be required for apple devices

Sorry, forgot to answer your question. I have zest.

I have read up a bit and as you say, variable reviews. I am thinking how to use aids better or augment with accessories. when i listen to music when out walking i have it at maximum volume. Some video stuff is not clear even at max volumn (this is all with aids out) so wondered what others do to listen better.
