Clinic appointmemt
Hi oh no that’s not good ! Let me know how you get on !
I will I be back on to them come monday
How long have you waited?
I am really sorry to say this but NHS waiting times can be very long, certainly in our area the team are swamped and waiting times at least 6 weeks.
Unfortunately AF is not regarded as a life threatening condition and clinics are under resourced and over subscribed - neurology even worse! I waited 18 weeks for an urgent referral a few years ago and now even though I should see my neurologist every 6 months, I’m lucky to see him in 12-15 months, thankfully I’m fairly stable at present.
I need to see my EP but tend to book to see him at a private clinic - I still have a 5 week wait for an ‘urgent’ appointment.
It is a good idea to befriend the secretary but I found it doesn’t get you an appointment any faster.
I know you may worry and it feel very urgent to you, but the one thing this horrible condition has taught me is patience - which I wasn’t born with!
4 weeks now Apparently hospital has new system in which didn't go as planned so there is a back log Appointments are now going to get in touch with cardiology secretary for me .I will be as a normal appointment apparently Really not bothered if I have to wait just need to know I haven't been lost in system .I am very impatient myself but dread the date arriving A right mixed bag i am lol
I'm a chicken to be honest
Derriford hospital are running 6 months behind with their EP appts.😕
This is my first appointment since being diagnosed Don't think they consider the emotional or mental effect thesee things have in people
I waited 5 months for first appointment so managed to get a private consultation and had all tests done as nothing done just x rays to see if fluid on lungs which although they said they could hear it could not actually be seen and was put on medication. Appointment with anticoagulation nurse came through within weeks and put on apixaban - In fact I think I managed to get to see the anticoag nurse before the private appointment as I couldn't get in even privately until about 5 weeks. There was no cardiologist in our local hospital and was not referred to one of the other hospitals in the group - though if there was only one between the few in our westerly side of the group then doubt I would have got to see a cardio sooner, and that is probably why I waited so long for a private appointment as everyone, from quite a large area who could was trying to go private.
Hi I have had my heart echo scan and 24 ecg done.Been on abixaban nearly a month now and bisiprolol
took a year for me.
That is bad really I'm going to phone again Monday
