arrhythmia clinic: ive got my 1st visit... - Atrial Fibrillati...
arrhythmia clinic
Hi - I am assuming you are going to visit one of the AF specialist nurses and not an EP?
My visits to the AF clinic usually involve an ECG first and then a chat with one of the nurses regarding the results, also medication, how I'm feeling and then perhaps a blood test. I also have their telephone number in case I need to talk to them in between visits. If it's the nurses you are going to see make sure you ask for a number to call them on. To be honest it's not a lot different when I go to see my EP, except we used to discuss ablations - have had two and I've been told I can't have any more due to extensive scarring in the heart..
I guess clinics may vary a little.

I go to me EP's clinic every six months. They take an ECG, then I go in and have a chat with him or more usually his sidekick. Each time I go and just try and think of what is relevant to discuss. Last time it was Warfarin as opposed to the new anti-coagulants. I make a list of questions before I go.

On my very first visit I was seen by consultant cardio and he asked about all symptoms ,did an examination and explained what he thought then organised ECG appts etc.
After that loads of tests and appt with arrhythmia nurse then on from there.
Good luck
