Two episodes this week after not having any for well over a five month. The endless butterflies in my chest breathlessness and countless trips to loo. Cardiologist appt Friday which is a good thing as can get it nipped in bud early. Then again might never have another one hopefully
It's back grrrrrrrrrrrrr: Two episodes... - Atrial Fibrillati...
It's back grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Very upsetting I know, still, as you say, couldn't have come at a better time 🙁 I hope the appointment is helpful.
sorry to hear the news Jules.....bend his ear on Friday and get it sorted!! best of luck, stay calm...........

I will be bending his ear as he told me that if it came back he would be going straight to ablate/pace as I've a few other problems with my heart. He put off doing it due to my age.
I have just had AV node ablation which I think is same as ablate and pace. I have already had a pacemaker for ten years for sudden slowing heart rate.....then got sudden fast episodes as well. Early days yet as still a bit tired from the procedure but it’s a relief not to be worrying about fast or slow episodes. I’m 75 by the way Hope this helps.
Sorry to hear this Jules. I know how that feels as I had 6 months AF free last year and then went into permanent AF last October. So disappointing isn't it! Have you any idea what may have triggered it to come back? What were you doing when it started again?
Jean
Hi Jo
I haven't reported back to any professional medics that I've gone back into AF. I thought it would go back on it's own after a month or so, like it has done in the past. On two occasions when I've been booked for a cardioversion it's reverted to sinus rhythm beforehand. Never before have I gone so long in AF.
I'm only mostly aware of it when I walk up hills and it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
Every weekend I tell myself I'll ring the hospital that carried out my ablations and ask for advice, but I never do. My EP has told me that after 3 ablations there's nothing more they can do. Perhaps I'll ring my local hospital who have performed most of my cardioversions and see if I can go there for one. I think they may have discharged me to the care of the ablation hospital. I'm all talk and no action I'm afraid.
I started taking Levothyroxine for an underactive thyroid (caused by Amiodarone) last year and one of the side effects of that is a fast heart rate.
Hope you are keeping well Jo.
Jean
regarding your comment "it is nowhere near as bad as it used to be", have you made any lifestyle changes that have settled things down? I appreciate that trying to find causes for this affliction is the route to madness but I can't resist trying to gather clues?
Thanks everyone. All I had done was hoovered one room and my washing. Just thought I was getting a migraine until the palpitations started. Just see if it happens again
Sorry to hear about it all. I had my ablation Jan 31 been VERY clean eating, very limited sugar/carbs, no coffee/teas/wine. Started to introduce different foods back into my eating. Not sure why but I started to have episodes again through out the day. After looking back at my food journal I had added soft serve yogurt that week after dinner (franchise store). I stopped eating the yogurt and rested for a complete day and I have had no episodes since. Coincidence? Not willing to chance it again-maybe I will try homemade. Best to you.
