I am scheduled to have an ablation tomorrow morning, here in Los Angeles. Is there any advice you guys can give me?
I read somewhere that I need to shave the groin area. What exactly is considered the groin area? Am I allowed to drink water at the hospital? Bring food?
Does being scheduled for an ablation mean I will be getting it done? Can they find something tomorrow that will cause a delay or cancellation?
I am a 37 year old male. Hoping this procedure will fix my heart and allow me to return to my formerly active lifestyle.

The nurses will shave you. You can drink water but no food 12 hrs the night before procedure. If you are scheduled it means you will have it done.
These questions should have been addressed with you beforehand.
I would say try to relax. The procedure itself is not bad. Think of it as a possible end to your arrythmia issues. It has been for me for over 6 months so far.
It shows you are healing not unlike if you bruise any part of your body and it turns blue and yellow. It will fade and disappear the next several weeks.
You should have been told ‘Nil by mouth’ after midnight if the procedure is in the morning.
Personally I have always shaved my groin (where your inner leg meets your body) myself.
After the procedure you will have to stay laying flat for about 2 hours during which time they will allow you to drink (probably through a straw or take a sports water bottle). You may not be able to eat until you can sit up.
For the first two weeks rest and resist doing anything physical. Post ablation recovery rest is the most you personally can do to help it all to be a success.
