Got my pvi ablation tomorrow, having a radiofrequency ablation. Very nervous but not unbearable. Cameoff flecainide 2 days ago and having mini runs of what feels like my af. Will they still proceed If i burst into a full blown episode? Do I still go in if im in fast af?

Ive had my cardioversion today jim, im in nsr and feel great, was suppose to sedate me with 5 mg but said they had to give me nearly double, ive been feeling so awful lately and now i feel excellent! Still bit groggy from sedation but good! I asked my nurse about u and said yes they will still do it for u, try and relax it will be worth it, keep me posted on how your getting on mate, ill be interested,

Whatever happens, present yourself as instructed. I went into AF during my ablation and had to be cardioverted. As I had a GA I would not have known if the EP had not subsequently told me.

Remember what Bob says :- root canal dentistry is worse.

Stay calm, go with the flow and then rest for several weeks.

Good luck.

Yes of course. They usually stimulate AF with some clever drugs anyway to see where it is coming from. Relax all will be well.

Good luck. If they didn't do ablations on patients who were in AF then those of us with persistent AF would never get an ablation!!!!

Thanks for the replies just want to get it done now!

I went into fast AF and then flutter on the morning of my 3rd ablation before I left for the hospital. It just made me more convinced how much I needed the procedure !

Everyone is nervous of having this done! Try not to worry too much. Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

hi hope it went well for you and the road to a full recovery is a good one.

I had root canal work done a long time agoi and if an ablation is not as bad as that then it wont take long and a walk in the park - was it?

Absolutely gutted, waited all day and just been told no beds available so they cant perform the ablation. Also told me I should have been on anti coags and im not. Been discharged with a new prescription for rivoroxaban, think its gonna be another 4 weeks min til I get another date. Talk about taking the wind out of your sails
