So, I was feeling pretty good then I went back to work 3 days ago, I work 11 hour days which normally isnt a problem, I am on day 4/ my last day this week but I got so dizzy, nauseaus, and my legs are pretty weak. Have I just been overdoing it? i can't afford to take off any more days especially since my boss is taking 2 weeks off and I have to move next friday. Is it possible I just have been overworking my body, It's not a desk job but I don't want to seem like I'm being a crybaby for coming in a little late today, I just want someones opinion on this. I had my ablation Last thursday on the 1st.

For goodness sake you are supposed to have at least two weeks rests post ablation! No wonder you are feeling bad. Who on earth told you that you could go back so soon?

Dr told me i could go back next day

Doctor is an idiot. Takes at least a week to make sure groin has healed for any real lifting etc. This doesnt even talk about letting the heart recoup.

Yeah that was the cardiologist who scheduled, not the ep who preformed it thank god.

I had 2 weeks off after my ablation and my job is so desk that I get more rest at work than I usually do at home.

Hi All, had my second ablation on Thursday and been told I can go back to work Monday ! I am taking Bob's advice and staying off until at least a week Monday. You are not a cry baby, if you don't feel well sod work in my opinion stay off. Good luck with your recovery 🍀

I consider myself tough and foolhardy, but returning to work 3 days after ablation is crazy! I took 2 weeks and could have done with a third.

Nah not three days, i guess i should have said the 1st, so i had 6 days off before going back on the 7th

Oh Nichyr, you've gone back to work far too soon! I needed almost 3 weeks off after my first ablation and I had a desk job. Looking after ourselves and resting after an ablation is so important. Your heart has been damaged by the procedure and needs to heal now and form scar tissue to block the rogue pulses.

Anyone would feel like you do if they went back to work too soon. I asked my EP's registrar how long before I could climb mountains again and he said a few days after the ablation. Not true, I feel so sorry for you.

Listen to your body please. You will be absolutely no use to your Boss or anybody else if you overdo things.

I had 2 weeks off, went back to work on the third week and felt awful.

It took me 3 months to feel normal again.

You've done too much, your boss will have to sort something out, you need to look after yourself in the healing period or it will have all been in vein

I had mine a month ago and am still getting tired much easier than before - you definitely need to take it easy.

Not what you asked, but I wonder if you see a possibility of living with IST for a while, to explore non surgical or pharmacological options. As you say, with your expected life span of another 80 years, serial pacemakers would be intrusive.

Not that I know whether lifestyle changes would help though I imagine further THC would be risky. Has overactive thyroid been excluded?

IST is a benign condition, aggressive SN ablation is more successful but carries a greater risk of a PPM.

How long before you know how successful the partial ablation, has been?

Do you see any possibility of soldiering on for a few years yet without further interventions. More successful and less damaging alternatives may come along, skills improve and technology improve.

Edit; sorry, I meant to post this in your latest thread.

It interrupts my day to day life, its not something i can just live with normally.

Benign is a lightway to put something that prevents you from even walkin up stairs.

Oyster, click on the arrow next to 'More' at the bottom of your post, and then you can click on edit and change whatever you want. If this is in the wrong place - please move it to the right place (cut and stick)! I can't make any sense of it in this thread . . !

You definitely need to stay away from Marijuana. That will cause great harm to your body. It did to me. I was using marijuana to help with insomnia. But I had a bad reaction to it when I used it at the same time as prescription meds I was taking at the same time. It started a domino effect that eventually led to me getting Afib.

Ive had ist before i started smoking, indicas will push my hr down while sativas will kick it up way too high

Still, I would caution against using it. Marijuana can also cause anxiety. And if you get a bad batch, you can have a bad reaction if it hits you too strongly.
