Out of hospital but still in af

Saw my doc on Wednesday and she sent me straight to derriford hospital with my pulse at 148 and in af. Feeling breathless and giddy. As I can’t take a beta blocker they gave me 8 digoxin and sent me Home on Friday evening. Still feeling breathless and still in af but rate down to 83. Feeling rubbish still. So now on flecainide, digoxin dabigatran omeprazole statin and atorvastatin. Have felt so well for 19 months after 2nd ablation and now this.

You're probably still recovering from when your heart rate was so high. When you say they gave you 8 Digoxin, do you mean over a period of days? Digoxin didn't suit me, it made me spaced out and very weepy and that's just not me. Have you taken it before?

Oh redders, how gutting for you. I’m so sorry :(

Hoping that this is just a blip and you’ll revert once your body properly recovers and rebalances from the stomach upset ... Maybe if you can get some real rest (now your heart rate is down) it’ll help. (Hard when you’re feeling rotten with the AF though I know.)

Do let us know how you’re getting on. Sending love x

I feel for you, it’s horrible. Don’t lose heart ( no pun intended) after my 3rd ablation my rate was 120/130 for around 3 months and suddenly it went back into sinus while I was sitting knitting. Have stayed in sinus for 6 months. Although now getting lots of ectopics ☹️ Rest as much as you can. Have you been in touch with you EP, if not I would contact them if I were you. Best wishes.

How much Flecanaide are you on ?

50mg twice a day. Have been on this for a long time now so maybe I’ve got use to it.

Its is possible that the AF is breaking through - you might ask them if you can increase the dose lots of people are on 2X100mg and seem to cope fine with that ??

Yes they may increase my flecainide when I eventually get to see my EP. It feels as if I have a weight on my chest and my head feels as if it’s fuzzy.
