Sore Throat!

Hi all,

Thank you very much for my previous responses! It has put me at ease.

I am having my pre - assessment tomorrow and I have woken up with a sore throat! No flu symptoms just a sore throat

Will they still proceed? Hopefully it will pass tomorrow

I don't see why not. When is your actual op or procedure. Ask their advice about how long you need to be free from the sore throat for op to take place good luck.

I was once told that so long as there was no coloured phlegm they would go ahead but hospitals may be different.

On my procedure I had developed cold like symptoms, sniff and sneeze etc, told them the day before, they said come anyway and they went ahead with me feeling the same.

Have you tried gargling with aspirin?

Do AFers use Aspirin? - Presumably we don't swallow it!

Polski No, you don't swallow it. My Uncle was advised about this by a Harley Street Specialist. You dissolve a soluble aspirin in water and you spit it out.

My Uncle had to have his tonsils removed when he was 50.

I find gargling with salt water hourly even better.
