Hello there I've had a sore throat and cough for a few days, however, last night I awoke with a fastish regular heartbeat (for me that is) and since then I have a crackling noise coming from the throat area. Any ideas?

Crackling noise from throat area
I had that sound when I had pneumonia last year. Crackling, wheezing, insect like noises
I’ve had it now for 2 months - started with an infection in December - GP says my lungs are clear but I am producing too much mucous. It’s very annoying and I am completely fed up of it but can’t seem to shake it.
I’ve met so many people with similar this year - I think it is the long cold, dank and very wet weather.
My theory may be proved as going away for a little sun and warmth tomorrow so if it improves I’ll know I was right.
Sounds a splendid idea. To get some sun.ive found the noises are yet another thing that stops me sleeping.
Me too.
I also get this, more noticable when lying down, I have found that a 'Natural Sinus Rinse' is very good, you have to use it until your throat is clear and the annoying mucous has gone. Being natural does not interfere with meds. You can buy a 'kit' from Boots etc. for about £20 and refills for about £5 will last you approx. 3 months. I have tried all sorts of nasal spraya etc. but nothing worked - so- thoroughly recommend Neilmed Sinus Rinse.
Thanks - a friend also recommended doing a saline lavage - I’m a bit of a woos about doing it- it’s an old divers tip for clearing sinus so you can dive.
Thanks that's useful information. I only get these noises when lying down and only on the the right side.. The left side there's nothing I'm Trying to cough it out but I'm getting terrible chest pain. It's amazing how you suddenly notice differant conditions as you get older.
Hi Charlie, I had bronchitis last November, the noise was dreadful unable to sleep. Recently had bad cold and cough and it’s back but only when laying down, had a huge cough to clear the mucous only to set my A / F off at an alarming rate.
Regarding the sinus rinse, my husband was advised by specialist to use the rinse and had very good results, am now going to try it myself to get rid of my stuffy blocked nose
Good luck, nice to know others have these things.
I get refills from amazon
Just a point on Neilsinus Rinse... I bought mine on Amazon, but discovered that Boots and other high street chemists sell the kit at the same price as Amazon, without postage of course......... just saying......
It seems whatever I've got now has triggered off a full blown af attack, my first in a few years, just at the wrong time 9pm on a sat night after already had 2 nights of no sleep. Oh to be young again...
