A PEACEFUL AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE

I regularly read all the posts but don't very often reply. I am writing to wish everyone a very peaceful AF free Christmas. I was discharged from outpatient cardiology a few months ago as my symptoms are in control. I know that my AF will always be with me and rear its head when its ready. The recent hospital report stated I had sick sinus syndrome. I was told earlier that I had paroxomal AF, brady & tachy cardia and as a result a 2-lead pacemaker was inserted over 2 years ago. Since September 2016, I have had no episodes of AF, for which I am so grateful. My meds remain the same - 5mg bisoprolol daily and 5mg apaxiban twice daily. Yes, I do get tired and also breathless, but I can cope with this. Seeing as I am nearing 72, it is a small price to pay. I keep as fit as I can by taking regular walks and keep very busy doing voluntary work for a local charity. Again, I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a bright new year.

I used to take bisoprolol and flecainade back in 2013. This is the wrong medicine for people who’s Heart’s don’t go above 90 when in AF. It made me have more of them. I found the videos of the York Cardiologist Dr Sanjay Gupta, these have changed my life. He gives you all the information you need. I only take a blood thinner Pradaxa now and get rid of my AF by going on the treadmill. A very AF free and happy Christmas to you all.
